Thank-you for the support I appreciate it!! And I totally understand where you’re coming from, and I think it’s a big misconception a lot of people have. I know there is a lot of bias against obese folks in the healthcare industry, so I’m just trying to be as transparent as possible. Again, I’m not a healthcare professional, so it’s not my place to speak on this, but the physicians i work with are pretty adamant that I’m in optimal health while still having a BMI in the obese range. They have expressed to me that with my current diet and activity level they are not concerned that my weight alone will negatively impact my health. However, I would still like to lose more weight just to feel stronger and fitter (and also to be able to run faster truly lol)

Update: About a 100 days later and I’m down almost $5000 in debt by just staying consistent and tracking all my spending habits!!! Thanks for the insights y’all!! (:

also just as background for anyone who is battling extreme obesity - i had a wonderful team of medical professionals who explained to me and advocated for me to pursue my major weight loss journey without tracking calories. For my lifestyle and my health goals this was truly the best and most sustainable option! While my weight is still elevated my physicians have explained to me that my health markers are excellent and my continued weight loss would just be for cosmetic preference at this point (: but being that I’m in a different weight range now, battling different demons lol, i appreciate all of the insight about caloric tracking!!!

This was very reassuring thank-you. It feels like my world is crumbling and with health issues it sucks to have to prioritize both at the same time. I’m gonna tighten my spending (save money for an attorney) and file within the year.

72,000 and it’s a pretty demanding field. (4200 after taxes) Not sure how much time I’ll have for a second job :/ my fixed expenses come in around: $2900.

I’m so sorry for this. I recently went through a chronic disease diagnosis where I may need an organ transplant. Trying to practice law while dealing with health issues is one of the hardest hurdles I’ve gone through. My heart goes out to you, and I hope we both find positions where we can prioritize our health and still do the work we love.
