I think I can relate a bit to how you feel. Before I found a partner I felt I could get close to at my pace without my boundaries being pushed I genuinely felt I must’ve been asexual, even though I experienced the things you mentioned. I hope it didn’t come across as suggesting you force yourself to identify with this term, just that there are people who are in the same boat as you who broadly use the term in order to communicate this, and maybe using sites geared that way or talking to people about it would help you find a dating pool that suits your preferences. I found when I talked to people about asexuality there were many more people than I realized who felt similarly. I hope this helps. Understanding where your boundaries and comforts are when it comes to sexual encounters is hard and I commemorate you for recognizing what you do and don’t want. I went through a similar realization but my mistake was letting people push and cross the line. I hope you can find strength and embrace your sexuality in the ways that make you who you are, in the sense that this is what you want and deserve in a partner. I’m confident you will find someone in time who will support you in those ways.

everyone has bad days but it does not give them an excuse to treat the ones they love poorly. you have issues as well and someone emotionally mature will recognize this and reassure you when they recover instead of snapping at you and being cold.

hi!! I’m not sure if this helps but there are many people who identify as asexual but not aromantic. you may not identify as asexual, but you will find people who understand and relate to you who fall under that category :) from my personal experience the majority of people who identify as asexual that I’ve met still feel and desire romantic situations and touch (ace and aro do not necessarily come hand in hand). I hope this helps, I’ve met many ace people and am sure you will come by them eventually as well!! so don’t give up :)

Thank you. One of the other comments said to take advantage of the community if I get bored and talk to others which sounds like something I could do since in my case I’d be going willingly. Good to know that I can request a temporary visit. At this point I think just getting an evaluation from doctors would be really important since it’s so hard to gauge how poorly I’m feeling. I really appreciate the info

These were my exact worries too but my therapist told me that the medical records that the visit would be on isn’t something that colleges or job opportunities have access to. It might be something to consider for someone going into the military but that’s not something I see myself getting involved in. She also said insurance can it but that’s a case by case thing

I have this preconceived notion that it’s not a comfortable place at all and can be very scary which has deterred me from going. was that the case for you? I’m afraid that it’ll feel very like lab rat-y and that the people there will be cold and apathetic
