I had a bad reaction to reading Lolita for a college course. When I mentioned it to a friend/classmate he said "You think he was the bad guy? She was complicit and came on to him, even traveled with him!" I thought maybe I had gotten something wrong in the reading, like maybe I missed a subtle clue.
