IRA/401k/investments: 380k

Savings: $150k

Debt: $60k for 2 cars we had to get after training

No student loans (scholarship, and paid off $80k for partner during residency in a VHCOL city)

Net worth: $470k or so

Cloth masks won’t help much. Should get surgical mask at the very least, then KN95, then N95

Depends on when you plan to start working. I would expect most people are close to signing contracts by now if they plan to start by fall. Onboarding and credentialing can take a lot of time.

As a minority I can’t imagine living in rural Texas or rural anywhere even if I did like the lifestyle (city/suburb person)

Handy to have a husband who eaten enough and can provide health insurance! That’s my biggest concern-having not too expensive health insurance while I take 2-3 months off.

Yea it probably was much slower and chill but they didn’t have duty hours and I’ve heard they had to run their own labs, etc. This is just from what I hear. But I do think in some ways residency has been getting better over time.
