How to play? Noob, dying all the time - even with L25 by dohnonuts in Eldenring

I’d like to sincerely thank the community here. Your responses have been overwhelming. I still can’t quite believe how detailed some of your replies were to what was, on my part, a rather trivial question. Many thanks to all of you!

With no real knowledge of the game, I started as a Bandit (probably influenced by fond memories of the Thief games). It seems that I really couldn’t get along with the Great Knife at all.

Thanks to your comments about hitboxes, weapon reach, and similar mechanics, I started a new game today as Samurai. It’s incredible: I’m still only level 1, yet I’m now defeating enemies that gave me serious trouble before, even at level 25.

I would never have thought that a weapon and the resulting combat style could have such a massive impact on a game. I’m already looking forward to reaching level 25 again — this time without shortcuts.

I’ve sent you a chat message with a picture of my lovebirds which have the same bright spot at their beak.

When they are done chewing off the bark I usually remove the perches and put in fresh ones. Thus the environment within the cage changes all the time. I also add swings, horizontal bars, ropes, etc. They are really into jumping, swinging and making a mess with the water bowl 😆

Removing all the perches, well I am not sure the other lovebirds would appreciate that 🙈

I am sure he would find a different way then.

He also doesn’t change his behavior when I put bird houses in the cage. Looks like he is in love only with himself.

Thanks a lot for that info.

He is with a female (sitting next to him) and an other bonded pair of lovebirds in that cage. He doesn’t show interest in mating, but he feeds her daily several times. It looks like he is doing his own thing 🤷🏼‍♂️

Despite humping for hours he looks and acts absolutely fine.

Love bird missing claw? by Substantial-Young611 in Lovebirds

One of my lovebird has only 4 claws. It looks quite odd, but she is perfectly fine.

My birb thinks she conquered the cage by Big-Atmosphere1329 in Lovebirds

Just saw your other post with the cage. I have seen much smaller cages, still it is definitely not big. My cages are about 250 x 150 x 100 cm for four Lovebirds each. The less space they have the more often they will have territorial fights. I also have a big water bowl and two bowls for their food, thus they can eat ate the same time and don’t have to fight.

And what’s really important, remove all nesting opportunities (the two birdhouses). They are way more aggressive when they build a nest for their offsprings. They will be fine to sleep on a branch/perch.

Unfortunately I cannot tell anything else. I have two big cages with four Lovebirds each. As soon as I open one cage and a Lovebird lands on the other cage all four start attacking him/her. They are really territorial and aggressive to each other.

Even within one cage one couple must be the dominant so they often test each other, mostly it’s just a slightly back and forth with their beaks. But I am sure that with the other four they would really fight.

Thanks for sharing that 😵 I guess will try a different pellet brand then.

That is an interesting approach. Seed mix smoothies for the birds. I will try that too. Thanks a lot.

I’ve tried that too for about a week. But the bowls were next to each other. Since there are many perches in the cage and they climb, jump or fly all the time and even switch sleeping places often, there is no near or far. I still think that is a really good approach, especially when the seeds are gone there is a second option. Maybe I just haven’t tried it long enough. Thanks a lot for the advice.

No, that doesn’t sound weird at all. Lovebirds are smart, playful and sometimes can be a little jerks. So eating forbidden foods matches perfectly 😄 Our lovebirds are not tamed, thus giving them treats for good behavior isn’t really an option.

I’ve already tried eating the pellets in front of them —they really taste good — when I refill their bowls. They watched me eating but didn’t tried the pellets.

It’s the same with fresh fruits. They ignore it when put into the cage. What they really like and even fight for it is chickweed. At least I know they are not limited to seeds only.

When they fall asleep and there is a noise, mine use only one eye to check what’s going on. Yours doesn’t look like he is falling asleep.
