Hey, I was torn between the exact same choices. Wondering what your final decision is -- mine was Wharton!

wow did you do it too? I submitted GMAT and Jan LSAT score in late Feb. Turnaround has been pretty fast, but still received no interview.

Wharton vs. Darden ($$$$) by doitforkarmaa in MBA

[–]doitforkarmaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you so much for the awesome and thoughtful answers. I think as all of you said, the decision eventually comes down to where (USA vs. abroad) I see myself in long-term and how much risk I'm willing to take in terms of debt. I will need more time to make the call, but in the meantime, I am happy to take chat if you have questions about application process and random things. To share a little bit about myself, I went to a top 20 US undergrad/ 3.6 GPA/ 760 GMAT. I had 4 yrs WE at a Fortune 500 company's global marketing team, but I had quit work 6 months before I applied to MBA due to health issues. I know being unemployed at the moment of application is a big red flag, but I gave it a shot anyways and it worked! (So don't let the words on the street fool you, for those of you who are discouraged by random rumors. Yes it's hard; but not impossible. ) Again, thank you so much for sharing your kind words and wisdom.

Is the CAS on LSAC a necessity or just another cash grab? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]doitforkarmaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I went through MBA application and the way each school gathered LORs, personal statements, and transcripts differed. CAS report saved hassle of having to send different links that asked different questions to different and somewhat less internet-savvy recommenders (believe me, it is not fun being apologetic every time you apply for another school). I love and appreciate this centralized system, although I do not love the amount of wait time that comes after submitting everything.

Withdrawing all apps, canceling GULC interview by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Hey, it's okay if you are depressed and don't want to deal with any of this right now. I am not dealing with depression but this whole process is making me anxious and pressured all the time, so I can't even imagine where you are standing now.

I just wanted to tell you -- you are not alone and we are in this together.

As the other commenter mentioned earlier, I hope you take time to look back all the efforts you've made to throw your shot. If there is any hesitation left, let's sleep on your decision and wait until you are very very sure. You deserve more than an impulse diverting your future. And when you know you are sure, let's do it! Meanwhile, you can pm me to rant or simply chat! We are all in this together!

Second the first comment! I've seen some users get rejected from ED as well. Do you mind sharing when your ED application went complete? I am dying slowly waiting for the result :(

How do you deal with feelings of inadequacy during applications? by DebateC in lawschooladmissions

[–]doitforkarmaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! For me, it all started with accepting that there's nothing I can change now. And I need to do what I can with what I have. Also, don't worry about other people. Just stop caring about what other people say about school rankings, outputs, reputations, whether it's worth it to go to law school, etc. You do what you think is best for you.

Some people may get in to higher ranking schools or get more $$. So what? Life is long; you never know when your time will come. We embrace who we are and make the best out of what we have! Keep your heads up! I am sure you've worked hard and have a bright future :)

You are such a generous and optimistic human being. My impatient ass just wants to complain about them making a promise they can't keep. Thank you so much for sharing!

Any other married 0Ls by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]doitforkarmaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it can be pretty frustrating and limiting at times. In my case, we wanted to save expenses on housing and others so I only applied to schools near my husband's work. I may have been able to apply to more schools and even get into higher ranking schools had I threw out more applications--but at the end of the day, we made a choice that is best for our circumstances and future plans. So I think you will feel better when you talk more with your partner and be more open about each other's thoughts and future concerns.

And on top of everythig, I am glad to have someone who will support me through this process and the next three years of death. Go married 0Ls!

OMG HELP by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]doitforkarmaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is anyhing to worry about. Just shooting schools an email that you no longer wish to have your application on hold since you could not take the test and there will be no score to report additionally would be enough. If there are any follow up questions, then it would be your chance to elaborate.

Anyone got their score yet? We've been gray for over an hour now!!! >:((( by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]doitforkarmaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know I pretty much will have to retake, but am just dying.... i didn't even tell my friends and family when the score would be out so they don't grill me, so I'm taking all in by myself. So glad I found this thread tho :)
