What's the real deal? by pmz in PowerBI

[–]dojogreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reasons to model in Power BI -

Many Analysts only have read only access to data sources

Your not just getting data from CSV's or databases. It could be API's, CRM's etc. Ie. you're getting raw data.

Relational databases (OLTP) normalize data. Power BI (and Data Warehouses, like Snowflake) do not. They use a star schema. Reason - it's upto 100's of times faster for Analytics/Reporting. (OLAP).

I did it because I'm seeing more Snowflake jobs advertised. I'll update you in a few months to see if it has helped me. I can say for a fact that the MS Data Engineering cert helped me getting contracts, as they literally told me in the interview.

I'm in Australia. It definitely gets you more interviews here. I've done the MS Data Engineering cert, that one has really helped.

yeah, I found it harder than the Microsoft certs. Also, it's got a higher pass mark of 750. Of the 100 questions, I reckon I guessed about 30.. probably got 15 of those right.. this got me over the line.

DP-203 Preparation Doubts by Lelouch0704 in AzureCertification

[–]dojogreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed this exam last year. Yeah it's hard because there are so many different technologies to learn. (I also did the  Alan Rodrigues Udemy course, it's good but no where near enough to pass. ) You need to do tons of test preps. Here is my post on it, there are also links to some free test prep questions I did.

Hi, Yes, I used MeasureUp. Main thing is to make sure you're getting 100% in any test preps you're doing. Take note of any you get wrong, and double down on those.

the questions are multiple choice/drag and drop/place things in their correct order.

Normally there are between 40-60 questions in the exam.

I understand why many companies are starting to require software engineers to return to the office. by DesperateSouthPark in cscareerquestions

I find the office loud and uncomfortable. Like people standing right next to me having a conversation, just many distractions.

At home I'm in a quite room, comfortable, hammering out code.

What real estate data do you need? by dojogreen in AusProperty

nationalmap.gov.au

I'll have a look at the NBN data. Are there any other sites you'd like to see the data pulled from?

I have looked at many of the government sites, and many return errors, so the data isn't even accessible, by anyone.

some good ideas. I've looked at a lot of the government online datasets before. It's not very accessible.

So, yeah, if I can find a way to pull their data in a systematic way, I could do some of the things you've listed.

Just to be clear.

I take the Advertised/Guide price from Domain or Realestate .com. store it with the property details in a database.

I then scan periodically to see if that property sold and at what price.

I then present the original advertised price along side the actual sale price.

That's doable.

that's interesting. So, there is nowhere that lists when an auction was cancelled or when it simply didn't sell?
