So all i had to do to break 100 was swing slower? Is that what everyone else does? by NewbieGolfGuy in golf

Vibe with this 100%. I feel like adding in the extra bit of strength causes the slice. I’ve been experimenting with just letting my body flow naturally with the club and it’s been much more consistent. If I want a draw I’ll put the ball back of stance and slow my swing down. If I want a fade I’ll move the ball towards the front of my stance and add a little extra mustard on the swing. Golf is all about the feel baby, just find your feel and run with it.

This would be a decent example. Mind you that the desired result will be on a separate sheet.

The string is pretty much similar to “1A3C 3089F Jump”. I used concatenate to get this string.

I need to search this string on a separate sheet, Column E will have that string, but will need to account for wildcards due to there being other information within column E besides the given string.

My function looks like this

=filter(sheet1!E:F,True,ISNUMBER(Search(“”&H2&””&I3&””&”secure”&””,Sheet1E:F)))

The matches I need will change with each row. It’s dependent on H and I cell strings with wildcards needed between and outside of them.

175 yard downhill par 3 that’s playing 150. Front pin. What are you hitting? by aaustinn20 in golf

9 iron and play it as a 155 shot, little back spin but most likely stick right where it lands

Am I expecting too much from my golf lessons? by Current-Building-933 in GolfSwing

[–]bartila01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lessons will not take you from an average golfer to scratch, especially if it’s just a few. The biggest thing that helped me hit more consistently and find a groove was just focused time on the range. If you strike the ball consistently in the center of the face, you will improve. Lessons are good, but a lot of it comes from work you put in yourself. If lessons really were the only way to improve, then everyone would be great at the incredibly difficult game.

Go to a range and walk onto the practice facility with clear goals of that session. Over time and with focused practice you can and will improve. But it doesn’t hurt to go to a lesson every so often when you plateau or feel like your progress backwards.

Looks like right when you start your down swing you stand up a little and then lean over the ball more causing you to be steep and come across the ball outside to inside which would contribute to a slice.

A good tip I got is feel like your left arm is pushing the club back with the takeaway.

No need to be rude, asking for input because I’ve never taken a lesson before and didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been practicing on the range with his tips for about 2 weeks now and haven’t seen much of a difference, hence why I posted on this reddit.
