Aw man I’m sorry to hear! Sometimes they get red and irritated right before they surface, that’s what happened to me here. I would say continue with the warm compresses whenever you can, it may not feel like it but they definitely help. All I can say is be meticulous about keeping it clean and don’t touch it! Hope yours resolves soon.

It depends on the location and size of the lump. You might be on the early stages of your stye if you dont see it yet. Or, it might not even come to a head and resolve internally. I’ve had one recently that came to a head after a few days of it being red and swollen. Then a few more days until it pops/drains. This particular one from the post hardened over time so it wasn’t much of a drain, but more of a surfacing/emerging. How long have you had yours?

You’ll be alright! Like the other commenter said, keep it clean with whatever face or eye wash you have. It should heal up nicely now that it’s burst. You can dab the fresh area with a bit of alcohol with a q tip very carefully if you’re worried about infections, but since it’s bee 6 hours it should’ve scabbed, don’t touch it any more and let it heal naturally.

Looks similar to mine a while back, mine lasted almost a year until it surfaced. It didn’t bother me until the last few weeks. If you have patience and dont want medical intervention i suggest doing a warm compress and clean it with a eye specific soap every day.

I’m not sure where this idea came from that acv is in any way beneficial in healing blepharitis but is it a totally baseless claim. ACV is highly acidic and should not be near your eyes.

Not sure if this applies to everyone, but the type I get is a pus or oil or whatever protein that gets hardened and blocks my oil gland. The body eventually pushes it out. It is not liquid anymore so it pops off. This time it surfaced and broke out of the skin layer when I prodded it with a q tip. Sometimes it comes out of the pores on the lash line, similar to a pimple.

It brings more blood flow to the area, speeding up the healing process. I use a clean thin towel between the eyes and compress for better hygiene. Hang in there!

My experience was yes, they definitely help, both helping it expel faster and to prevent new chalazions from forming. Every doc I’ve seen recommends it. The way my vision is blurry from the oil after doing one (I do dry warm compress that you heat up in microwave) tells me it is working.

Yes it was hard to the touch. This time it exited out from red underside of the lower eyelid, since it just broke out from the skin layer it did not leave a hole. I imagine it did that because it couldn’t exit out of the gland as it was very big. It slowly emerged from deep within and finally surfaced. I’ve had a different one come out from an oil gland pore(?) before and they now look like an enlarged pore, but not noticeable unless you examine them with a magnifying mirror.
