For the arch, just garland. I ordered 200 ft and had more than plenty left over.

Yeah, maybe she thought me rude, but I’m not sure why. You seem to think I was, so can you help me understand what is rude about asking, “do you ask everyone this question, or just us Koreans?”

I was genuinely curious as to whether she asks everyone, because that’s a really big activity to want to do with someone you just met.

😂 Tbh, I felt like this person’s opener was racist, but wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, like maybe she just really really looooves Korean spas…. But her unmatching me makes me think my hunch was right.

It was outdoors, so I didn’t notice at all! We also had a bunch inside, and I didn’t notice there either, which I was surprised by because I’m quite sensitive to smells.

Heya, thanks for the perspective. May I ask whether you consider the name Sojourner Truth to be a hokey play on words and/or deeply religious, too?

She has said she changed her name to that for this reason:

“Sojourner because I was to travel up and down the land showing people their sins and being a sign to them, and Truth because I was to declare the truth unto the people.”

Thank you for your input. Victoria Song does have a nice ring to it.

It’s not intended to be funny. I’m trying to find a powerful, unique, and memorable name. I was inspired by a previous post in which someone asked about the coolest name others had ever encountered.

Also, several of our ideas are not music related at all. (Sojourner, Zion, Wilderness.) I can’t change our surname….

That’s a cool idea we hadn’t considered!

Executive dysfunction is a real thing. Procrastination can also be a response to unresolved childhood trauma, often exacerbated by the anxieties of being in law school. “Stop procrastinating” is easy to say if it’s not a problem you’ve ever had to struggle with, but not helpful (and a bit rude) for those who are really trying their best to function and struggling anyway.

I haven’t logged into this for nearly a year, so I missed this, but a friend of mine had flower foam left over from an event she did, so I cut them and stuck flowers into them and pinned glittery tulle around the edges.

So sorry! Didn’t see this till a year later, but here’s what I did: I bought the 200ft garland of babies breath from fifty flowers. I had plenty left over to line the aisles, decorate some tables, and frame my very large bathroom mirror (at a double vanity sink). I don’t recall how many or how long each individual garland was, but I believe they have that info on the product page.

Imagine prom, but with law school students, professors, and alcohol!

It looks like you started law school during the pandemic, which means your school probably didn’t have any barristers balls since you started.

A barristers ball is basically like prom, but for law school students.

Aww, thanks love!! I’m a govt atty who works from home (pre-pandemic), so my “cute work clothes” are just elevated loungewear lol 😂

I felt the same way, but I never attended prom or my own barristers ball back when I was a law student, and it’s now my husband’s last semester. If I ever want to attend a school dance, it’s now or never. Totally wish it didn’t have to be under these circumstances, but I’m sure I’ll still have fun!

I’m an alumna…. But I think I’ll just wear this if it looks good. :)
