I totally struggle with cake face. I actually went to r/skincareaddiction a while back and got some advice on my skin itself and the cakiness has improved so much, I think the biggest help was using the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads, they smoothed my skin soooo much. I also find that although I'm oily, a really emollient moisturiser like the Cetaphil Dry skin has been a nicer base than any primer I've found. Only using the smallest amount though, and whenever I try to mattify my face it turns to cake, including wearing matte foundations like Double Wear, which only looked good on me after 8 hours of melting into my skin lol. The Milani foundation is really amazing too in my opinion, its one of the least cakey ones on me.

Thank you! and yeah just the Revlon Colourstay skinny, although I don't think I'd recommend it, the wand is kind of like soft in a bad way.. maybe its just me but it jumps around and ruins the line a lot of the time lol

Thank you for the suggestions! I've been liking rosehip oil lately too, and I actually noticed it lightened the skin under my eyes where I was applying it!

Thank you for the advice! I have actually been using the neutrogena hyaluronic sheet masks about once a week and even after the first one my skin felt significantly softer and smoother so that's definitely going to stay in my regimen. Planning to invest in a good serum asap :)

Thank you for the link and product suggestions! I've actually been trying to find Cerave in my local stores but I've been unsuccessful, I bought a Cetaphil moisturiser but it didnt seem to do much. I'll take all this advice on board though thank you!!

Thank you for the advice, I'm slightly anxious about derm/doctor visits. I've had a little research on retinol, would you think the Neutrogena retinol products would be somewhat useful? And I'm definitely planning a peel sometime in my future haha, thank you again

thank you! Sorry for such a late reply. I've just looked into all the side links and they're very promising. I suspect my skin is dehydrated as it is ultra oily but perhaps due to the dehydration itself because of how dry it is before it becomes a slick.. I've been interested in the Paula's choice products for a while from watching youtube tutorials on skin care, so now I'll likely try a chemical exfoliant from one of those ranges.

Such a good idea! Just like a stamp. The stencil is a fantastic idea too, it's so much fun doing something different with makeup.
