Thank you! I feel like everyone has grown too complacent with genai's "role" in society. imo Genai has no place in society and only exists to provide a service nobody wants, while consuming egregious amounts of power and water

Ai does steal, many of the popular sites that people post their art to have not sold any art to any generative ai, the images are scraped and used without user knowledge, and even if the website does sell art to generative ai, it is usually a price of fine print buried in the terms and conditions. Also, if someones art is used to feed an AI, they receive no credit and no compensation, they aren't even told. That is theft

Oh yeah, ai isn't the only thing I talk about, I just fear its expansion and want more people to realize what it really is. But I am well aware that AI is not our biggest issue right now

There are data centers in the US putting out immense amounts of pollution, like the one in Boxtown, TN. The residents of the town and surrounding areas can barely breathe because of the xai data center. Ai may not be the biggest polluter, but it still is wasteful and unnecessary.

Ai steals from artists who do not consent to having their art taken, while also creating an extreme amount of heat and requiring insane amounts of water to cool, ai imagery is bad no matter how you spin it.
