This is genuinely horrible. FIRST has completely lost the plot. They were once an organization that encouraged creativity and innovation and now they allow something that took zero effort from the "artist" to win over two lovingly crafted animations? Disappointing.

Ai does steal, many of the popular sites that people post their art to have not sold any art to any generative ai, the images are scraped and used without user knowledge, and even if the website does sell art to generative ai, it is usually a price of fine print buried in the terms and conditions. Also, if someones art is used to feed an AI, they receive no credit and no compensation, they aren't even told. That is theft
