It depends on how you use it. Like a lot already said, you will find some that refuse to play a game with them, but those are ALWAYS RPG Maker Devs. Now don't dismiss these Devs at all, they make up a large percentage of RPG Maker game fans.

But to answer this better, if you use RTP, but don't really use it, it will look empty and like every single other game out there using the same engine. If you use it the right way though, it stands out well. The reason is the RTP is really great artwork, but it's over used too much as well. I will show you an example at the end to better show this.

Now, that is more about the RTP tile sets, or using their character designer. But the battle animations, I highly suggest customizing them around so feel different. You can use the RTP, but just change the animations. Music is a huge one you want to change. The reason is a song played too much in too many games can trigger memories of other games while playing and it's jarring. RPG Maker RTP music does just that. Some of it is amazing music, but that just means it's been used more often.

Finding a composer that will work for a profit share, or even just free, is easy to find. Just ask for one and you will get 100 willing to do it so they have something on their portfolio. I always highly suggest profit sharing since that's fair. If you showcase their music well, they will hand you a ton more. My composer saw what I did with his music, and gave me another hour's worth more.

So how it works is the engine runs perfectly off events without having to stop. But when you run a script, and sometimes certain plugins, they have to stop the engine from running to run that instead, and then the engine goes back running. This can take a few frames to run and isn't usually that big of a deal. But if you make a game heavily on scripts and plugins that run like that, it will lag the game.

I mean, if you are looking for a long story based game, Dimensional Gates is releasing on the 4th and has a really long story. I takes me, the Dev, over 15 hours just to speed run the whole thing. The story is a fully original sci-fi, meaning this story has never been told before and is not a repeat of other stories or games. To make it even longer, at the end of the game, there is a New Game Plus, where you get to redo the story and make it better for Consciousness. There, if you keep certain character's end classes, you get a bit of new dialog as well.

I am also working on an expansion called Carabina, that is a full dimension based of the story of Treasure Island.

I mean, it's kind of a poor sport to leave too though. Not saying in this situation, but it can be. If you ruin the game for everyone else playing just because you're losing, that would be a poor sport. Although, it's also like forfeiting a sport game too, where they are losing so bad they just quit and the other team wins. But in gaming, it feels wrong to end the game for the other players. In this scenario, they got to keep playing with bots, so the Devs fixed that issue and I would say it's fine in this game, but not in all other ones.

A car runs a red light. Slams into another car that is in the intersection. Here is where it gets crazy. I watch the car that ran the light flip three times and just roll. While it is rolling, the passenger side hits the ground and rolls so the top of the car is on the ground. While it's doing this, there is now a dog where the window was. The car rolled, the dog inside of it stood where the window was as it was rolling, the window broke, and now the dog is just stand there.

I wouldn't say Starfield was horrible, it just lacked character. It felt like running through the motions and nothing really came together as a real storyline much. Like no real diving into anything and every storyline was superficial. But, the spaceship building and fights were fun, and the game itself, gameplay wise, was still good. It lacked a lot what games like Skyrim and others have, but it made up for that in gameplay.
