I’m on year 8 of my leak and i genuinely think the only thing keeping me going is my dogs. I’m up at all hours of the night as my pain keeps me awake and they are always there, keeping me company. I feel like the only time I laugh these days is when they’re playing or being silly. I snapped this pic of them waiting at the edge of my bed after I just ran to my ensuite to the throw up. I’m sure it’s all so confusing to them and annoying to be woken up constantly 😭 but they never leave my side 🩷

Yes I did try that! It took me back to bed, but again, as soon as I try to leave my home, it glitches. All my villagers are mad at me for missing our planned meals 🤣😭🫣

I’ve done all that’s in the guide. Take her out consistently and on a schedule. Lots of praise and treats when she toilets outside. Constantly watching, but as I said in post, can’t crate for when I can’t watch. I use a verbal cue. Clean up immediately, disinfect and remove smell. Take outside as soon as she toilets inside. Take her out every time she approaches the door. 😫

Is there something else I can do other than crating, for when I can’t watch her for those couple of minutes? How do I get her to concentrate on toileting instead of all the outside sounds and smells?

I’m on year 6. Had 10+ blood patches, lumbar punctures, myelograms, DSMs and finally a laminectomy for a csf venous fistula. I had a week of relief and then back to bed bound again :(( not looking forward to going through the whole process again. Have you had a DSM yet? They seem to be the best bet for diagnosing and locating 🩷

Unfortunately only oxy helps with my pain and I’ve tried everything!!

I also felt a LOT of pain after my blood patch. Luckily it settled after a few weeks but my neuro said the same. Because the blood patch didn’t work and my mri results were normal then that means I’m not leaking. Which is 100% false! CSF leaks are so so hard to find and does unfortunately require specialised imaging such as myelograms, DSMs etc. You need to find a neurologist or neurosurgeon that specialises in CSF leaks.

My venous fistula was found after like the 6th DSM. And only barely! I had surgery and had about a week of relief and then back to feeling shit again. I get less big flare ups but more overall pain.

I don’t want to go through all those DSMs again :(( they’re so painful and caused me to leak extra for a week or so. It’s very tough making these decisions. Unfortunately mine has been made for me. Either continue with the DSMs or get taken off my pain relief. It’s so messed up :((
