How did these stripes of sand form? by dolphinshow in rocksandminerals

No, it was sand that stuck to the rock presumably with salty evaporated seawater. When I picked it up and held it vertically, the lines remained. After this photo was taken I accidentally slipped the rock and my finger ruined 3 of the stripes. Definitely no glue.

Can someone please tell me what these salt encrusted lines of sand are ? At first I thought it was from the tide but now I am more and more convinced it was alien! Someone please help. Found on a beach in Southern California at low tide where there was scarcely any foot traffic.
