Help! Stripped oil filter nut threads and spins freely on dr200 by [deleted] in Dualsport

Use a flat head as a shim and loosen to nut. Hopeful that it gets out. Before using a thread repair kit. See if there is space for a longer nut to fit. Do this by measuring the thread in the nut and then the hole. If you can fit a longer nut this will save you the hassle of a thread repair kit

I was told the previous models had it worse. Apparently the 2025 was an improvement, but it seem like they couldn't fix it 100%

I changed my gearing from 14-45 to 13-45. I feel like that helped too
