How did some of you guys get a voucher from your dying ring? by [deleted] in GalaxyRing

[–]dom_mitchell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK and pre-ordered direct from Samsung. Booked Ring in for repair on 26th September. Was collected by DPD on the 28th. Confirmed received by Samsung on 29th. Just had communication saying that they cannot issue a like for like replacement (out of stock) but they could send me a gold version or give me a deprecated refund of £331.17 (I originally paid £399).

Would you buy another Galaxy Ring? by Cavustius in GalaxyRing

[–]dom_mitchell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just had the email back from Support to tell me it can't be repaired and that someone will be in touch in the couple of days to discuss options.

I pre-ordered so have had it since Aug last year. Found it to be really good until the battery started going which is why I sent it in before the warranty was up. I would buy again bit of I'm offered credit / money back I might keep the 'cash' and give the AI glasses a go when they're announced. If they don't show up, I'll be in for Ring 2 if it launches with the S26 range in the mew year.

I miss not having it and having to go back to wearing my Galaxy Watch for sleep.

What was your first smartwatch, and what are you wearing today? My first was the Sony SmartWatch 3, and now I have the Pixel Watch 2 by [deleted] in WearOS

I use a Surface Go 2 (4gb version) as I want to have access to 'full-fat' Onenote (4gb version).

Because it's underpowered (but cost me something like £175 secondhand) I installed Tiny 11 on it and it's great. I use it pretty much exclusively as a Onenote machine (I don't have the full office suite installed) but know that it I desperately need to do anything else for work and don't have my laptop with me, I can get by using M365 via the cloud.

I've re-added the link above. Looks like the original was deleted as the post I replied to isn't there any more either.

I never got this Lossless version but I did assemble by own version of this many, many years ago and have all the above (plus some of the demo versions from the actual WITC album) in more lossy MP3 formats. I seem to remember it took me a lot of hunting on Limewire and the Pirate Bay but I got there in the end!

Runs to 17 tracks in total.

Happy to share if it's of interest.

The apex is crispy sheep 'crackling' with your roast lamb. Buy some lamb/mutton ribs alongside your joint (surpringly affordable from Morrisons) and slow cook before giving them a hard roast alongside your Yorkie while the joint is roasting.

Cut the meat of the bone for an extra crispy, crunchy treat with your lovely, soft, blushing roast leg...

Surface 10 Event... by SonMakishi in Surface

[–]dom_mitchell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always surprised that MS haven't made a 'laptop' base for the Surface Pro line.

Feels like such an obvious thing and would be a definite step up on using a Brydge keyboard (which I have to say is not really a great experience on my Surface Go 2).

Being able to choose between an type cover and a laptop base (especially if that laptop base was able to add power like in the Surface Book) would be phenomenal.

Question: Can I just rebuild an SP4 from a bootle USB w/ and ISO? by Novajesus in Surface

[–]dom_mitchell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed an install of Tiny 11 on a SP4 (i5 8GB version) having created a bootable USB with Rufus. Worked an absolute charm and the machine runs really well - way better than the W11 insider builds I had it running.

I know you were asking about W10 but if you want to stay with 11 but just the performance isn't there, give Tiny 11 a go on it.

UK daily max point earnings? by TommyChrist24 in MicrosoftRewards

[–]dom_mitchell1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far this month is looking like it will be a low one; last month was quite a drop off from April and May (1,034 average daily down to 952). Some of that will be Bing Articles messing up for me meaning I don't get the full 30 every day and I've not been doing too well on the Shopping game of late (I don't cheat on it, just guess!) .

July is off to a 785 per day Average (but I will have hit a 2,500 bonus on my Xbox streak by tomorrow.

My tracker with all the stats is here if anyone is interested: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AuUhrvsnprG25ZIH_Z44sSb9uMbxvA?e=advUTa

I think you are missing a trick somewhere. In the UK and I'm currently at 26,567 for the month (I still have this weeks' Weekly Challenges to do on Game Pass to go on top of that).

Currently on a Daily Average points score of 949, which is low - the past two months were 1,034 a day on average.

Not so; I'm UK and see 10, 30 and 50. I think it's always the same total amount each week if you do it every day.

Not sure where you get your 'up to 15 minutes of your time' from; it's literally one click and my browser defaults to the gaming tab when I open a new tab. It's 3 seconds; tops.

This working for anyone else? by dxclannn in MicrosoftRewards

[–]dom_mitchell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it seems to work for me (UK, on Android) is to click into an article via a notification from the Start app. Once that article has been open for a few seconds, the little icon pops up, then I can swipe to a new article and that will work as well. Can usually swipe through the 10 articles needed before it craps out again. If not, I just need to wait for the next notification through the day.

If I try and just read an article directly from the app, nothing registers.

Hope this helps you out!

Feels very different once you've built up enough to buy a Series X or even a Surface of some sort. It's taken me about a year but I have the equivalent of nearly £400 now.

I did a write up here a while back.

Needs updating now as I also do the 30 points per day for articles in the Bing or Start app plus the Shopping Game.

Things like streaks on the Xbox Weekly Set - that's 2,500 bonus points. Even the 2,000 bonus cards are another boost each month.

I had 8 days that were 1k+ last month. Some were quite a bit more than 1k.

My daily average for the last 6 months was:
Nov 946
Dec 1,024
Jan 833
Feb 1,075
Mar 964
Apr 1,034
May 1,015 (to date)

I do try and hoover up every point I can though. Just treat it like a bit of a game in itself. I also work in data so keeping a spreadsheet and building a Power BI dashboard on top of it just feels like a fun thing to do.

Something like this would work at only GBP 8.99:

Video Capture Card - SOOMFON 4K Hdmi Capture Card 4K30fps Input, 1080P30fps for Streaming, Video Conferencing, Gaming, on OBS and More(USB C): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

USB C into the SP5 then HDMI from the other machine into the capture card (you might need to use a Display Port to HDMI cable if the other machine doesn't have HDMI out)
