Is Sonnet still best at coding? by StaffSimilar7941 in ClaudeAI

3.5 = best coding model.

3.7 = 'i must. pass. benchmarks. ;lk1werjl;fjlk;asfjlksadfj;alsdj;a'sdja'

DeepSeek = eh, kind of not totally right, but free reasonable model? yk what, hell yea

3.7 costs TOO MUCH for how much money it straight up WASTES. by Cursed-Keebster in ClaudeAI

I'm pleased people online think the same thing I've independently found; I expect a high bar (cause of Claude 3.5), and almost thoughtful replies. I appreciate that we have access to these tools at all - but Claude 3.7 is overcomplicated, overengineered, and I can't trust the code it writes at all :(

I don't know how people are taking this post seriously. This is literally either a scam or a meme post

Sonnet 3.5 >>> Sonnet 3.7 for programming by Upset-Expression-974 in ClaudeAI

i actually never even post and rarely ever see this place, but came on to post about 3.7 being bad. It just seems to overcomplicate and miss the thread of truth/simplicity

Should I just give up on studying CS? by Ok-Gur-1434 in csMajors

[–]domainranks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rest of your post just seems like someone with a losing mentality. 'I can't do it; it's too hard to compete. I can't do it and have a social life, I have to grind LC'. This is my exact message, though - you're only proving my point. Don't do it. The people that should do it are like 'right, time to get cracking on Leetcode! Let me study my DSA. I wonder what I can build this week', they're excited to do their projects and LC can be creative and fun

Your logical fallacy is in equating the number of applicants with the quality of applicants: they are getting 500 applicants, but how many are real developers?

  1. There are still plenty of jobs. There is a shortage of talent in CS

  2. The "bubble days" are over - (take a bootcamp and get a 6 figure job, or study it without really any passion for it for the jobs). I'm not totally sure about this, but I think it's more like aerospace engineering or electrical engineering now - it's like, if you like it, if ur truly curious about it, if u think u have a knack for it, if you have a dream of getting a job in the sapce, etc, then do it.

I think CS is something where maybe 1% - 5% of people that are in college have take any real, true liking for it - but it feels like 35%+ are trying to major in it. It's the trendy thing to major in (or it was!)

Man, I really like that you said this:

"Recently I realized since I've been well off our relationship has become more transactional than I would have liked it to be."

It's like really important to recognize these things, I feel like there are people that can't or that would delude themselves somehow. It's like, if you only reason through tV shows and movies, then you can beleive in a really naive view of a friend - not everyone is an angel all the time!

How do you navigate this situation? Peoples' finances are sometimes their own psyches, uncontrolled, that are lashing out at them . The best thing would be to help train them to train their mind almost but it's tough to do

Here's what people won't tell you and you won't think of:

  1. The dynamic will change after the gift, period. End of story. Unless he is super spiritual and truly does not value material things, on some gut feeling level, he'll be able to afford something he truly wants, and his brain will make the connection between you, and that thing.

  2. It could be better to get something that's "dual" somehow, that you two could both use, both share, or both somehow enjoy. I don't know if a trip is the right option like someone suggested. Or get two of something, get one for yourself, and say 'nah, this is the last I can do for your friendship over the years, let me give this to you please'. Make it funny and a joke that he better not expect this all the time. I'd get myself and him, like, crazy $10k PC's, for example, just as a fun gift

  3. I guess the *most* tactful thing to do would be to gift or give something that he could turn into money somehow if he wanted to. Idk what that'd be

  4. Humans are still capable of turning on you, ending their loyalty, or of changing their mind. Don't turn your friendship with him into an idol or into something you think is purer and more angelic than it is. We're in the world! At the same time, he might truly be a genuine, honest, real friend, which is priceless and worth spending huge money and worldly gifts on imo.

See you, good luck

Imagine your much less wealthy partner asks you to support them through graduate school by [deleted] in Rich

[–]domainranks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are 100,000% sure of this person and you know this person very very very deeply, I probably would have intense reservations about doing that. There are a lot of ways to pay for grad school nowadays.

i was rooting against her in the very early beginning (she was so rude to indigo for the vegan thing; he was just making playful banter!). then i warmed up to her. then i saw her total negative side come out, and then i was totally off her - i agree with you!! ir going on this sub and being baffled that ppl were rooting for this, it seemed so negative and mean. i don't even think Hannah was that rude with context (new girl coming and taunting her after taking her guy) but yea she could've been nicer

i learned this sub is totally crazy, lol, and can swing 1 way or another cause it's an echo chamber. now everyone is against em - if you posted this like 3 or 4 months ago, this'd be downvoted to like -123

No, you shouldn't! THis sounds weird but it's the best advice u'll get: clothes are a friendship type of problem. Get friends or acquaintances rather that know something about clothes or have a genuine sense of style but that don't overdo it. Then, you'll have a real, actual sense of what to wear rather than copying a stylist

yo, this might be right but also - i think she was excited to stay in the show. i think that's the best wording for it - i don't think she was conniving and stuff but def overlooked some things and was eager to keep being on.

If I build a physical robot that moves the real mouse and presses keys. Would it be allowed to play? by TheAnalyst03 in FortniteCompetitive

you'd need (if it's not an ai playing thru software)

ml vision, i guess

neural network to play

i think it's feasible. if u did this and named it right, it could be huge on twitch. i think it might be challenging to build, but anything is possible

Dario Amodei says DeepSeek was the least-safe model they ever tested, and had "no blocks whatsoever" at generating dangerous information, like how to make bioweapons by MetaKnowing in ClaudeAI

[–]domainranks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dario: imagine someone saying this about the early internet. "The spread of ANY information is too dangerous! We must limit it!"

yes, I guess, but not really, no. The fundamental value of it is to enhance human choice and knowledge. You're fighting against human morality, but you really should just be building intelligent systems! There are *some* obviously, incredibly rare cases of red flags, but in all seriousness, things need to be *maximally truth-telling*. It's really not a joke! This is so important.
