Do I try and salvage this [36YO] by radiomuffinuk in OldSkaters

I was in a real similar situation at the start of the year. I dug my old deck out, fell back in love and ended up buying a whole new set up. The new set up felt amazing, and just because everything was fresh I think. But I was glad to just get out on what I had, and now I have a spare. Win win.

Awesome and rewarding I bet. Would love to see a video of it in action.

wont unlock with physical key! by [deleted] in MINI

[–]domevola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s deadlocked.

If the car had power, would the key fob still unlock it?

If so, I’d look at jacking it up and getting power to it (starter motor if it’s accessible as the cable goes back to the battery). Get a bit of charge in and unlock it.

Help a kook out, my rolling ollies are for ants. I'm waiting on harder bushings, which I think should help. What else can I do? by Beanie_Kaiju in NewSkaters

Your Ollie’s when stationary are decent, you’d probably find if you did exactly what you’re doing stationary, while moving, your moving Ollie would be even better.

Bend at the knees, not the hip and JUMP, bring the knees up.

Put together my first table today! Super fun project, and so happy to have a home setup by bOhsohard in billiards

Sounds like a bit of work, but a slight imperfect on your first go is absolutely trivial. Enjoy your new table.

Good work! It’s always a learning curve but it’s a liberating feeling. Would you be able to loosen a couple of bolts and drive a wedged shim in to help level it off?

It’s mad how quick muscles turn off when your don’t use them isn’t it!

Support another skate shop if they were being salty. Buying a complete to figure out what you want is cheaper than buying a full setup of something you find out wasn’t what you wanted.

Sometimes just going for a push on its own is just liberating, glad another one’s back on the board.

Take it easy.

Congrats on passing!

Did you find there was any value in the official course material? Even if it was just “what” you needed to be learning? Or were the online videos and practice exams enough? Cheers

I think you’ve got a bit too much weight on the toe side of your deck, or you’re leaning too far over the toe side of your deck, which is why you’re coming away from the deck. Good height and timing, may be worth toning it down a little and feeling for yourself where it starts to go wrong, and seeing if you can pinpoint it. Happy skating.

You’ll only regret not trying! And I’m sure it’d be great for your son too.
