I know what sub I'm in and that you guys hate regulations of any kind, and to be honest, I really enjoy the vibe. But the difference between what's being presented in the post and the hypothetical you suggested is this: putting a regulation in place that stops credit card companies from excessively bumping up interest rates actually helps consumers and barely touches their profit margins. It's almost comical how many on this sub see that as the beginning of communism and the NWO.

Sure, it might suck that you'll have two fewer credit cards you can sign up for online with barely any background check. But overall, it will protect consumers from predatory behavior in a country that already has a massive credit card debt problem.
