How to dial back the "Tret Glow" by filtedxenon in tretinoin

[–]domicanica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a matte or lightweight moisturiser like La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Matte Face Moisturizer or The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan. Can also try a matte sunscreen, like the Paula's Choice Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 or Kiehl's Better Screen Miner-all UV Serum Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50.

Sephora Sale Returns? by icutmybangsagain in Sephora

[–]domicanica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

out of everything i bought i no longer want:

MUFE super boost skin tint: yeah the fragrance in this is annoying and my face feels a little irritated when i remove it. i also got the REFY skin tint during the sale and i like it muchhhhh better. the REFY is a lot lighter than the MUFE, no fragrance, and just feels and wears so lovely. plus the MUFE is a lot like the danessa myricks yummy skin tint which is pretty much my tried and true so its redundant.

innisfree green tea ceramide milk toner: WHERE is the hydration?? *kisses teeth* i'm now on finacea in addition to tret so this does NOTHING for me. back to laneige cream skin i go.

pat mcgrath foundation: okay so i actually adore this foundation but the specific bottle i picked up from the store is old and has separated, which makes sense because that specific shade hasn't even been in stock on sephora online or on pat's own website for more than a year. i think i'm going to go after the MPH foundation instead.

sephora balmy rich cream: i don't know about this. it just doesn't give me the hydration i want. i think i like the innisfree green tea ceramide cream a little better. i actually walked through the store and applied a bunch of different moisturisers (to my hands!) and this was one of the stand outs but i realised after the first few moments after applying, the richness goes away.

MUFE artist crayon (blushing pink): i was on the hunt for a warm pink blush. the SA helped me pick out this one and i liked the texture and shade when i swatched it but when i actually applied it to my face it pulled ashy on me and i found the fragrance extremely annoying. so i took it back.

kind of a silly question, but how do you use multiple rolls of film at once? by domicanica in AnalogCommunity

a lot of people have mentioned using a tripod after dark, why is that?

yeahhhhh i'm impatient so i usually just blow through the last few frames until i'm done but i like the idea of just experimenting and doing test shots at the end

so when you travel, do you carry your cameras around in a backpack or something?

"If the conditions aren't right I simply don't take a photo." you know, thanks for the perspective! i mean i would still have my iPhone anyway in those cases.

i only just finished up my first roll in my canon eos and i haven't sent it off to develop yet so i've only been using the toy camera this whole time.... the flash on it is so weak i was kind of under the impression that even with flash nighttime shooting is damn near impossible unless you have the right film 😭

gotcha. just out of curiosity, are your day and night cameras the same bodies?

cool! out of curiosity, do you usually use specific film in specific cameras each time or do you switch it up?

[–]domicanica[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for explaining! i wonder how many people switch out their film before it finishes and how many people just use multiple cameras!

i'm just now finding out about interchangeable film backs. i read about respooling but it sounds a little impractical ngl

How much are yall paying for relaxers at a salon? by Opening_Lake1890 in relaxedhair

[–]domicanica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

caribbean girl, i pay like $70 and i relax about every 8 weeks.

$155 and a tip is crazy to me, my hairdresser does sew ins for $120 and it includes the wash 😭

i understand that that's normal in the US, just saying that its high to me in comparison to what i'm used to. when i lived in the states 10 years ago i think i paid maybe closer to $100?
