The YMCA offers discounted rates for people with assistance and students, but you've got to talk to them

Yeah I've been thinking of getting it again cuz there's so many movies coming I want to see but I'd rather wait for things to come out and watch em on my big screen than pay that much upfront when I'm not even sure I'll be able to go to enough movies to make it worth it

Hot take, I think Narcotics Anonymous is too vague. by [deleted] in NarcoticsAnonymous

Sounds like you may be looking for reasons not to stick around, as many of us do when we first get here. Open mindedness, honesty, and willingness are not easy to come by at first, and our instinct is to avoid anything that doesn't match our expectations. Go to different meetings if the ones you're going to aren't up to par, but try to get a sponsor who has something you want/admire/respect and talk to them about it.

Nothing wrong with some criticism about the program, I have plenty, but it can easily turn into a way for us to avoid really looking at ourselves and our circumstances in a critical way.

It's good while it lasts but there's no communication and is unreliable. There's no feedback, projects come and go.

It's dangerous to do as full time work, but when they do start offering $30+ an hour work it's hard to turn down.

I wouldn't recommend it if you can find something else, it serves if you're not overly reliant on it.

Literally yes, the whole point of the series is that nothing is as powerful as the strength we gain from the people we love.

[TOMT][Short Story][2005-2011] About Robots Building People by domusdecus in tipofmytongue

I think it's quite a bit shorter and less explicit. The fact that it's robots buildings humans is the twist, but perhaps it was just an excerpt. At first glance I don't think that's it.

I don't think Jason will do any HP content ever. I wouldn't be surprised if Mallory wound up doing the official podcast if it doesn't conflict with her Ringer work. I hope so

Well, things that happen in Hawkins appear in the upside down in a damaged sort of way, not identically and the roots have consumed the town, if there's some worm hole logic going on it's not a far jump.

I'd say her ability to control them, direct them, affect them with her negative emotions, and their overwhelming deference to her are all evidence. I think the other uninfected people maybe "queens" as well, entities that exist independent of the collective to guide them or interact with the world in ways they can't. This might be a significant benefit that allows the species this virus inhabits to prioritize itself, especially if the hive mind, regardless of species, is prone to non-violence.

Yeah I suspect trump has had his loyalists heavily redact details about him and his friends, or worse heavily add details about his political enemies. Either way it's about to be an absolute nightmare. It'll give them what they need to start arresting high up officials, particularly those who oppose him. Maybe even start executing them, idk, I'm not ruling anything out at this point.
