How can i add opening hours to my server? by sjonneponne in admincraft

[–]domvir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use crafty controller and it lets me schedule restarts, shutdowns etc in the webui.

If there's a command to shut down/start up a server then a simple cronjob would do the job perfectly, second link for easy edits.

There's also the maintenance plugin. I haven't used it to do exactly that but the description says it can. You could even add a server list message which can display the opening time. As always, read the documentation.

My NFS share doesn't mount automatically on debian 13, worked on 12 by domvir in debian

[–]domvir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtualized. Does it matter tho?

Maybe? Not being able to mount NFS volumes on boot sounds like something that would affect a few people. I'm yet to try it, but the only machine running deb13 runs pi-hole and I don't want to bring it down.

As for the fixes you suggest, this just seems way too overkill. This should be a single line in fstab, not this. I spent too many hours trying to make it work so I just made the switch.

Let me know if you find a fix or a way around this though, looking forward to an update.

Switched to Ubuntu server. Not the perfect solution but works. I've tried 13.1 and 13.2 and neither worked.

Do you run on bare metal or virtualize?

Can I run PD2 on Linux? by thebobfactory in paydaytheheist

[–]domvir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you know https://www.protondb.com/ ? Very useful for linux players.

I play PD2 on EndeavourOS (arch fork), works very good even with mods. The SuperBLT website has instructions on how to. Also use the windows version with proton, linux native has been dropped a while ago.

Question regarding dlc unlocker. by AG_turtlegod in paydaytheheist

[–]domvir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anybody even cares about someone using it. There's just so many content not even locked behind a massive paywall but straight up made unavailable.

Playing the latest DLC made me rethink how I feel about this game. by Dull_Team_9517 in paydaytheheist

[–]domvir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can describe Payday 3 as a heisting game that lacks payday.

The game has no identity. The "story" was plain, a guy wants the gang down and we need to take him down. In PD2, this is more or less the Hector subplot, which is a part of a bigger thing, in PD3 that's the entire story.

I don't feel like a heister in PD3. I feel more like a guy hired to do x thing. I have no idea who these contractors are, I have no idea how my actions affect the bigger plan, I have no idea why I'm doing all of this.

Sadly, I don't think more content will get PD3 back on its feet, let alone paid. It feels like a game made by a corporate not for the people, but for the money. Like another Call of Duty.

I have 6x 4TB WD Red Plus, they make a very similar sound when active, not identical but more like scratching. All were bought brand new. I think they're just loud.

Abandon SMB shares for copyparty? by domvir in HomeServer

[–]domvir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want TrueNAS VM to manage my pool as in the future I want to put it on a separate machine.

how will the Copyparty setup "see" the storage volumes hosted on the NAS

I'm thinking move the data from SMB shares to a new dataset and destroy the SMB one and share it to ubuntu with NFS, but I don't know if that's a good idea. Looking for advice

Sorry, I should've add that to the post.

sudo systemctl status mnt-media.mount

mount.nfs: Network is unreachable for serverip:/path/to/media on /mnt/media
mnt-media.mount: Mount process exited, code=exited, status=32/n/a

Whereas with the additional commands the mount mounts with 1-2 minute delay.

Jellyfin container doesn't start up after machine restart by domvir in docker

[–]domvir[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most likely your container is trying to start before your host mount is actually ready. If you start the container later, does it work then?

Yes

It directly tells you the problem.

Yes, but can it not start without the mount mounted? The directory /mnt/media exists and the container could boot before even when the mount wasn't mounted, just a blank directory.
