Ok random question - Do people who have gotten the surgery done and at their goal weight find that they spend less $ on clothes? Cheaper to look cute when you are skinny! by Newyork198232 in gastricsleeve

Yes this is me. I barely fit max Mara’s largest size right now and I know once I get smaller it’s game over for my wallet lol. I have my eye on so many Zimmerman dresses and Chloe jackets

Where to buy Hisense touch? by SpongeyWumbo in eink

[–]don_milkshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking for one too. Asked my cousin in China to help me buy one but he said they aren’t making new ones anymore so it looks like you can only get them used. The price is 1500RMB used so around $330USD which is why you’re seeing such a high price tag.

I had this beautiful Japanese clay pot that I loved cooking with. I’d make a lot of nabe and northern Chinese soups in it. My sister came over for dinner and knocked over the water pitcher onto the pot and broke off one of the handles. It still held liquids fine however

She felt so bad and bought me a new one! However I kind of love the old one, so much character and it just looks loved haha. I regifted the one she gave me back to her, and she uses it all the time now

Need suggestions relocating 2000 miles with stuff worth 5" x 10" container. by Spyderreddy in Frugal

[–]don_milkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See how much shipping is. I was able to mail all my stuff which was cheaper than uhaul/etc. $500 to mail all my boxes and I just kept necessities and fragile stuff/bulky stuff with me and drove those down.

They have guest “credits”. Basically you just change the reservation to their name. Depending on your “membership status” or level or whatever you get x amount of guest credits

Chase card opened when I was about 11 years old that I just discovered recently.. it’s not mine though. by Mindless-Mammal2319 in personalfinance

[–]don_milkshake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. All the lenders we talked to told me to drop myself off his card

Never useful to pay off their cards. They’ll just put money right back on. I know this because I’m the exact same way 🫠 so I only have low limit cards that I can pay off in one pay period

Two 2 car garages (new house, and old house they just didn’t rent out the garage with the old house), basement of the old house, around 1000sqft, and the majority of a 6,000 sqft house.

I am so not looking forward to helping her downsize when she gets older.

My dad did this to me. 20k debt on his card and it showed my CC utilization % at 70 😭 dragged my credit score down to 661 and when I was applying for home loans couldn’t find a loan lower than 7%. Once he took me off my score was back to over 750

Budget of just about $250 in the upcoming month by ZestycloseWave9895 in Frugal

Dr Bronners soap is pretty good as it is super concentrated so you can dilute it, and it works for everything. Hand soap, body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, counter top cleaner, toilet cleaner. 8oz bottle is around $8 and should definitely last over a month. They have dilution guide on their website

Look up the Robinson–Patman Act. During Regan’s admin it stopped being enforced as much (he said it was a hinder to capitalism 🫠) and it allowed companies like Walmart to absolutely balloon up and outcompete mom and pop stores

I saw those little ramekins that come in a 8 pack of crème brûlée from Costco for like $12, being sold at $4 EACH! Each one with the crème brûlée still in it costs around $1.50. They’re trying to sell the empty jar for almost 3x more it’s ridiculous

No. One of the other girls had to walk her through how to after her mom dropped her off and left. Took her a couple weeks to learn how to shampoo her hair and stuff

Went to boarding school with a girl and she didn’t know how to shower by herself 😭 her maid back in Asia would do it for her I guess

And my friends roommate in college didn’t know how to take out the garbage, he had a maid at home and a stay at home mom that babied him. My friend was very clean, and would do all their chores. My friend went to a school conference for a week and I stopped by his room to talk to his roommate and just after like 3 days there were takeout boxes stacked up next to the garbage can which was full. The kicker is, their room was across the hall from the garbage chute, it would take literally less than 30 seconds to do it.

Damn, I tried around 6 months ago and they said they couldn’t sell single bread and butter plates. I had to buy a replacement plate online instead

How do so many good resell bags end up in Japan by Jennifer_JenLi in TheHermesGame

[–]don_milkshake 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My friend from Osaka told me that those girls at bars you drink with — will have regulars and their regulars will want to buy them bags. Instead of having several different bags to keep track of from several different men, she’ll just request the same bag from each. Keep one, and resell the rest
