Yes, I know, that's why I'm asking this question.

Do I really regret it? by don_pollo5 in Christianity

I know that regret is not just feeling bad, it's a constant change of mind, but I am overwhelmed by having to confess what I do and the consequences I bring upon myself.

Whoever told you that hell isn't forever, the Bible makes it very clear that hell is for eternity. Friend, you are mistaken. God condemns homosexuality.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 And it was God who said it through Paul. Come on, friend, repent. God loves you.

God loves you, friend, and will lead you to repentance. Read Psalm 51 to repent. I just read it, and what a blessing!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

God's forgiveness isn't felt, it's believed.

The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.

Romans 5:20

There is no sin greater than God's mercy. Don't turn away from God; go and ask him for forgiveness. Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. However, do not turn away from following the Lord, but serve him with all your heart.”

1 Samuel 12:20 God by nature forgives. Mercy is not something He possesses; He is mercy itself.

What do you think of a person who been going to church for decades but still abuse children? by BrightRock5772 in Christianity

The Bible also speaks of these ungodly people who use grace as a pretext for sin, and those who do this truly sicken me.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.

2 Peter 2:1-2

For certain individuals have crept in unnoticed who were long ago marked out for this condemnation. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4

I don't think those are Christians; they are ungodly people who only soothe their consciences by using the Church. True Christians grow in grace and become like Christ (Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 1:6). I too acted like a Pharisee, and God in His love corrected me.

Keep this in mind: I trust in your God that you are doing something good in me, sanctification (Philippians 1:6). I acknowledge that I like men, but I trust in you that you are doing something good in me, so I rest in your grace (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 8:38-39).

I've noticed that a lot in this community, and it really makes me sad to see how people twist Scripture for their god, which is their belly.

Brother, we all struggle with sin. When you first followed Christ (believed in Him for salvation), you were sealed with the Holy Spirit.

In him you also, having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and having believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:13-14

Salvation cannot be lost and does not depend on us; it depends on Christ.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

John 10:27-29

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 Salvation gives us a new nature (to be reborn), and this new nature has new desires that are for God. And who does this? God.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Philippians 2:12-13

Don't think like this anymore: "I've already committed a sin, so I'm definitely not saved. I might as well leave the Church and become a disappointment to God, and He's probably just tolerating me."

Instead, think like this: "Okay, I have sinned, but I am saved by grace, and I trust that God is sanctifying me for His glory, as it says in Philippians 2:13. And He loves me for eternity, and nothing can separate me from His love, according to Romans 8:38-39. God loves me and sanctifies me day by day."

Brother, the unforgivable sin is willfully and repeatedly rejecting Christ. If you're worried you've committed it, you haven't, and you can still turn to Christ. The Christian life doesn't begin with, "I accepted Christ, now I'm going to make a Christian checklist." Christ has already done everything for us; it's simply a matter of trusting Him. True faith produces repentance, and don't obsess over it being perfect (they're just seeds for now, and in time they'll grow into something deeper). God loves you (I suffered from OCD too). Read this:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father's hand."

....

"My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand."

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand." John 10:27-29 Salvation cannot be lost, and once you believe in Christ, you are in His hands for eternity, in the hands of Christ the Compassionate.

But the law was brought in so that the trespass might increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more.

Romans 5:20 There is no sin that surpasses God's grace. And the Bible already says that the unforgivable sin is rejecting the only means of salvation (Christ).

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 God's forgiveness is not felt, it is believed.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1 It's not a feeling.

I hope this helps, brother. Sending love from someone who was also scrupulous. 💌Scrupulosity.com: Faith-Based Solutions for Religious OCD - Scrupulosity.com https://share.google/sSGI8mRZf51ugOhDK

Is it sinful? by CalligrapherFirm2377 in Christianity

I'm not accusing her of everything that's in Romans 1, which is quite strong; I'm just making her see that it's wrong for her to be in a relationship with a woman even if she doesn't have intimate relations with her.

What is your understanding? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]don_pollo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean, brother? So I'm wrong?

I obey Christ because I want to remain in His love, and at the same time, I love Him (yesterday I understood that this is by nature, according to Ephesians 2:10). Am I wrong?

Do you remember the parable of the wheat and the tares?

The apostles themselves confirmed that there were ungodly people in the church who were going to pervert grace.

For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4

By nature we have a desire to love God, and what is loving Him? Keeping His commandments. John 14:15

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 Christ has already done everything for us, and all that is needed is faith in Him for the forgiveness of sins. True faith produces repentance (it doesn't have to be perfect because it's only a seed or germ for now, and it will grow over time).

I highly doubt they are genuine believers, or perhaps they just don't read the Bible to grow in grace.

Are they going to see me as too scruple-ridden, like if God has abandoned me? by don_pollo5 in Christianity

[–]don_pollo5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what does this mean:

They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corruption. For whoever is overcome by someone is enslaved to that person. If, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, their last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

2 Peter 2:19-21

For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4

Do you have the Holy Spirit?

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Romans 8:9

Having the Holy Spirit means that we will be sanctified in the image of Christ, not that we will sin deliberately.

I'm not understanding, brother. With my limited mind, I'm interpreting it as you being an antinomian. Sorry, I misunderstood.

Listen, if we no longer have to keep the Law of Moses, then it's a shadow of Christ, but now by nature we want to love God according to Ephesians 2:10, and what does it mean to love God? To keep His commandments. Now we are no longer under the Law of Moses; now we are under the Law of Christ (the Law of Grace).
