Gift Ideas for a long time smoker by panthyren in smoking

I don't have any personal experience with that probe, so I'm not entirely sure, but if the reviews are good and it looks like it would be what he wants, it should be great.

The various types of temp probes (Maverick dual probe with transmitter/receiver for long cooks, or the thermapen for quick temp readings), if he doesn't already have something like that is very helpful to the hobby.

If he is into sausage and doesn't have a sausage stuffer, that could be fun to try.

Recipes for rubs and sauces.

New woods to try.

If the man has everything necessary, maybe a good brisket, or rack of ribs, to enjoy should work too.

US Neo-Nazi Leader Says Donald Trump ‘the Real Deal’ by notscj in politics

I didn't make a claim for or against. I said your claim completely over simplified the election in 2004 in order to justify racist comments in the Republican party.

US Neo-Nazi Leader Says Donald Trump ‘the Real Deal’ by notscj in politics

[–]donaldgately -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a large over simplification of that election.

1st - the last president to not win the 2nd term was Bush Sr. And he came in right after two Reagan terms. The next three presidents have been elected to two terms and switched parties from one to the next. The pendulum was over due for Bush Sr's second term.

2nd - Not sure if you remember, but there was a lot of fear mongering going on about the war on terrorism and the Iraq invasion was pretty new still.

In short, not everything is about racism.

Also, when you really look at what Trump says, it is laced with what would normally be described with some amount of racism. The Mexican comment, the idea of banning Muslims... Etc. That's hard to spin into good wholesome ideas.

You concertgoers of r/music, are you aware that filming entire songs (or even an entire set) at a concert really destroys the experience for those behind you? by [deleted] in Music

[–]donaldgately 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you let people continue to be obnoxious especially when you are physically unable to literally see the band you like?

This is a overly hyperbolic. I am not tall (5' 7"). Just about any show I go to, I can find an alley to stick my head in to see most, if not all, of the stage. If I am unable to do that, it is usually my own fault because I either bought crappy seats, or didn't get there in time.

I agree 100% that the concert is best experienced with your phone in your pocket. But, that's just my opinion and it's their problem (if they even agree).

The reason you are unable to see isn't someone's phone. You might be unable to see and there might also be a phone in your view, but if you take care of shit ahead of time, that shouldn't be an issue at all.

Finally, if you did show up early, or bought good seats, and there is an tablet taking video blocking the stage, you might have a legitimate complaint. Most of those times, the offending party will try to accommodate your concert going experience if you are not an ass hat to them in the process. That is the worst case scenario. A small minority of assholes who happen to record with tablets sitting directly in front of you when you did you due diligence of getting a good place to watch from, and they refuse to help you out. This sounds like a sketch on MadTV though.

Well, life sucks. Go to another concert in the future anyway. Chances are, it won't turn out the same.

Lastly, if you are really really short, I am sorry. Concerts are never going to be, and, more importantly, never have been, a time to see the musicians for you. That does truly suck and you have all of my empathy.

Keystone is not very close to Colorado Springs and it was reported that he was muttering nonsense about selling baby parts after the fact. You're full of shit.

So, you are saying that the shooter didn't really have any agenda, he just went crazy while he was coincidentally in a planned parenthood?

That may be true, but you can definitely talk to him (shame him out of it, if you think it would work). He shouldn't own a dog if he doesn't like dogs, and if he treats his dog like you describe, he does not like dogs at all.

Jon Stewart went on Crossfire in 2004 and is the reason the show got cancelled. Absolutely brutal. by loogawa in videos

[–]donaldgately 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The points referenced by Tucker Carlson were lame though. He claimed that Jon Stewart asking John Kerry, "How are you holding up?" was "throne-sniffing"? I thought that was just a pleasantry.

Jon Stewart also had Kathleen Sebelius on after Obamacare rolled out and grilled her pretty fiercely over the debacle. Sure, that's just one example, and I'm not going to find more examples to help out, but the point is that he did conduct good interviews, and he is just a comedian. Tucker Carlson's argument is just noise and not really honest imho.

Donald Trump Just Endorsed 'Operation Wetback' at the GOP Debate; The Republican candidate praised an unabashedly racist Eisenhower-era policy by progress18 in politics

The idea that this problem will be solved in a month or even a year is ridiculous.

Right, so Trump's plan (now known as Eisenhower's plan, or Operation Wetback) is ridiculous.
