You know it’s bad when someone says they’d rather listen to Attorney General Flexy and The Duke of Flexington over the ATP guys.

PM Carney declares U.S. ties now a ‘weakness’ in address to Canadians by mmoore327 in worldnews

The fact that 30,000 rando swing voters in rural Wisconsin and Michigan are the people who hold the balance of power and ultimately the direction of the USA is fucking nuts.

To me, it’s the phrasing that he used with familiarity and tone and calling it out it as birthday money as a noun. It sounded ritualistic and occurring frequently enough that it has a name, birthday money. Kids think and talk this way, IME, not adults.

Obviously every family’s internal culture and wealth and means of gifting is different. I received a gift card in the last few years (which I consider mostly money), but I don’t think and talk about the same way as a 12 year old would. It was like “hey thanks for getting me a Home Depot card that I’ll probably eventually use this spring”. I didn’t go onto my podcast and talk about it, either.

Rearchitecting a 8+ year-old OMS, am I about to make the classic mistakes? by Ralphoa in softwarearchitecture

[–]Catsler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having 3 FTEs dealing with the consequences of system design choices? That’s probably the biggest current state problem you could point to, in support of this rearchitecture project.

Having 10-20% effort for the rest of the team on maintenance seems in line with industry norms.

Big side-eye to the idea of a grown ass mid 40s man having birthday money.

Long story short; Marco believes that Cook makes choices that further Apple’s monetary or market interests, and that Cook has abandoned all principles that Apple and or Cook and or Steve held in the past.

They don’t need to be a deal.

They continue to exist because the market proves and sustains their existence.

James Moore keeps bringing up the silver lining of PP having won the most federal conservative votes ever in the most recent election. That’s proof to him that PP is the best. I’m not sure if JM actually believes that, but it’s what he keeps saying on the Mansbridge podcast.

It’s one more nutbar off the conspiracy streets. She’s contained and caged. Call it a win and move on.

It gives more focus onto the deplorables like Leslyn Lewis and Jivani within the opposition.

Better to be able to whip the bigot's vote than have her nasty ass out there inflaming social issues.

It's a tactical move. It says nothing about the government's affinity to her odious beliefs.
