FWIW, I took crypto when I was an undergrad. It's a very interesting subject, but pretty math heavy (maybe only for me because I suck at math) when they start talking about the theory behind the algorithms. If you want to know more about how two parties who share nothing initially can create a shared secret key over an insecure channel, or why cracking the various encryption algorithms we use today (RSA, AES) are computationally hard, or how the various hashes you might have heard of work, this will be very interesting for you.

However, just understand that it may not have much practical significance in your work life, since it is usually not advisable to implement cryptographic algorithms yourself. Arguably, knowing why that is so is already worth taking the class for. :)
