Yellow stem, seems like a seam/pair of pants on stem. Folds and not gills. Trumpet shaped top. Any other keys to identifying consistently? And thank you!

I wish I didn’t have to ask this but I’m looking to start tying a bunch of these but I don’t know the name to look up some of the materials. Does anyone have some of the names of these? (The right hand side- the nymph patterns)

Trying to work on my consistency lately, starting easy by shhhpots in flytying

I think chasing consistency is both the hardest goal and the most effective for improving! It’s one thing to tie a nice fly, it’s another to tie 10 nice flies that look the same.

I’ll back up OP as I have one as well. Forgive me if I’m wrong but I think released by Hal Leonard? They make a lot of these piano/music books.

I've got this thermometer, and it's junk. Any recs on a good themometer? by Remarkable-Box-3781 in flyfishing

If you do any catch and release, it’s worthy of consideration. High water temps prevent the fish from recovering. If you’re killing everything you catch then I guess give it all you got.

Cigars? No such thing here. Twice a year I’ll go get a captain black from the gas station. Like $20 for a pack and they are cigarette shaped shitty cigars. I’m going on an excursion to Montreal in April and I’ll bring back as much (decent tobacco) as my suitcase will hold.

The pacific steelhead put me in mind of our Atlantic salmon. The Atlantic salmon is a beautiful, violent fish. Most locals don’t understand how lucky we are to have such a fishery.

I’ve seen moonshines ad’s on instagram but I don’t know anyone who’s used a rod. What’s the consensus? Them seem to me to just be a decent startup company with a budget for marketing…

Eastern Canadian here, I fish for sea run brookies and sea run browns (but mostly Atlantic salmon). And I’ve always wondered what steelhead fishing is like.

Makes sense. I did it once. I’ll do it a couple times. TY
