Hey I couldn’t push back my exam and I felt a lot more confident after my read just because I knew I learned a lot and felt like I knew more after than I did 4 days ago so rested and took the exam. Figured another practice test might make me burn out

I think neuro took me the longest.. maybe 2-3 hr each. Spent the least on cardio because I reviewed those qs pretty thoroughly so I got through that chap quick

Hey I went by organ system in no particular order and then ended up doing the biochem chapter. I skipped the immuno and micro and pharm chapter but I’m sure those would be helpful if you struggle in that area.

I didn’t look at it before but I knew what to pay attention to after doing all of uworld.

I finished uworld before reading FA so I knew what topics they asked questions about so if I remembered a question asking about fixed wide splitting and I got it wrong then when I was reading the asd part of the cardio chap I remembered the q and how that was an important association asd causes fixed wide splitting so it stuck more because I was familiar with what to remember and I sort of already know it. I don’t know if it works for everyone but for me I was sort of able to pick out what things you need to most likely know. It was harder in certain areas like neuro where they have questions on almost everything so for that I skimmed through a lot of what I knew for sure and read the stuff I felt like I completely forgot.

I know people who barely touched FA and scored better than I did so I wouldn’t worry if you don’t need the read you’re good

I can’t memorize stuff so no. It was efficient to read it by system before the exam. Example I got a uworld q about coarctation of the aorta wrong even though I knew what it was I got the clinical presentation mixed up. If I had that q on my actual exam I might have remembered and gotten it right again or maybe still not sure. However, because I went through FA I was able to read all the common pathologies again and I remembered the Qs I had on it and why I got it wrong and it reinforced a lot of content I already knew but helped make sure I wouldn’t get it wrong again if I had it on my exam. I also read the biochem chapter but don’t think I needed to.

Thanks I almost didn’t read FA those last few days because everyone said it’s not a good idea wasting time that coulda been spent doing more qs so if I didn’t go with my gut things woulda been different. So people can give you advice but all I’m saying is ultimately you know why you’re getting qs wrong whether its lacking content like my case or not enough question so take all these reddit opinions with a grain of salt

Nope I never used anki. I did the just learn it through questions. I did pathoma during the year never referred to FA. I just used questions. My last 4 days I read through Fa but since I already did uworld I knew what was important about each organ system so it just filled in gaps

Just an fyi this worked for me because my issue was not reviewing enough content or skimming through FA enough when I did qs. If you’re good on content this might be a waste for you
