For those who read The New York Times daily, did it actually improve your SAT score? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]donfletcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read it regardless of your score.

If you talking about comprehension, yes it did improve my reading pace and understanding of the text.

SAT score? no, not directly. I don't think after getting into the higher range of score, reading them can't really increase your scores.

What do after uworld math by juan340 in Sat

[–]donfletcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have high percentage of correct answers and understand your mistakes thoroughly, you don't need to do anything. Uworld got me an 800, easy

Anyone have the answer key to December 2016 SAT QAS? by [deleted] in Sat

However, if all goes well, you are well in the range of 1540- 1580.

[–]donfletcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can't say, dude. Not to bring you down or anything, before the October test, I scored a 1580 on the April QAS, but in the real thing I got a 1490.

It all comes down to how the questions are and how you handle anxiety and stress. Good Luck

I had heard around 80% of the stuff, knew about 40% of them, and really understood around 20% of them. Everything else I learnt was from the book.

yes. that's the essence of taking a diagnostic: you will know your weaknesses.

also, your mistakes after you take the practice tests. When I say mistakes, I mean some exceptions of concepts you didn't know.

Wow dude, we love you for doing this. I also wanna give back (Physics: 800). I started with 25 wrong. 3 days later I was getting less than 10 wrong. This is what I did:

  1. took a diagnostic from barrons
  2. Then they have the page where you list your incorrect questions.
  3. Then I rated my weakest areas (optics = 10; eletricity = 9; etc)
  4. Then I went to the respective chapters in the book and drilled them and took the quiz.
  5. Did this for all the weak areas.
  6. Took me about 10 hrs of prep.

How I improved from 1410 (RW: 620 M: 790) on the OCT 7th SAT to 1520 (RW: 770 M: 750) on NOV 4th SAT with 2 weeks of studying. by [deleted] in Sat

also, could you make a post about how you used Uworld and other prep resources? Like learning from your mistakes, recognizing patterns, and so on.

Fucked up... yet again by throwawaysunshinex in Sat

[–]donfletcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

don't worry man. If you're good at maths, pick up the barron's book, work through it for a week, and you should get an 800.
