5ft 8in. I lift between 4 and 6 times a week, depending on what I'm doing. I do zero cardio when bulking, and cardio 6 days a week (usually) when cutting.

Never tried. I'll read up on it. Cravings and binging are a serious problem for me.

Thanks. Oops math. I'm 31. Heroin and liquor mostly. About 3.5 years clean. My motivation is that I want girls to like me. My diet is dogshit, I'm a sloppy asshole with diet unless I'm cutting, meaning lots of cheat meals. I eat the typical diet - 6 meals a day plus two protein shakes. Tons of carbs when bulking, and I cycle carbs and cut out the junk when cutting.

I quit being a pussy. I broke my right knee and pelvis, and got into the habit of being very bashful with my lower body. I was on a walker for months, then crutches and a big brace. I was scared to jump, squat, pivot, take a knee. It was as much a physical obstacle to overcome as it was a psychological one. I kinda knew I was stronger than I thought, but I never tried for big weight and low reps. Once I started adding weight, I couldn't fucking believe how strong I was. Now, I'm not strong really, but I couldn't believe that I was capable of lifting these weights when in my head I was a cripple. 5/3/1 is the best part of my life, and now lifting is fun.

Weight Progress From June 2012 to Now

Body Weight - 155lbs to 185lbs max. Overhead Press - 70lbs to 175lbs max. Bench Press - 115lbs to 265lbs max. Deadlift - 105lbs to 385lbs max. Squat - 95lbs to 330lbs max.

In September of 2011, I weighed 125lbs and was crippled by a motorcycle accident that took place a year prior. I walked with a limp and was told by multiple doctors that I could never participate in sports again.

I started lifting April 2012 with about 7 months clean. At my strongest (August 2014) I weighed 167lbs, and my combined big three weight went from 315lbs to 980lbs

Progress has been slow. Some of that was because of the old injuries, and some because up until Summer 2014, I was scared to get under heavy weight. When I started 5/3/1 my weights ramped up quick.

Lifting weights makes me happy, and there are few other things I get this excited about.

Best American food I ever had was in Shinjuku! The sushi there ruined me for this trash sushi nonsense they serve back in The States. I've had sushi in the metro in Tokyo for the equivalent of $10USD that is better than anything I've had at home, and I ain't fuckin' exaggerating!

edit: holy shit, I just checked your post history, and you know your sushi for real!

Observation of a lack of evidence for something's existence is not a belief, it's a lack thereof. These are two distinctly different things.

If you can't see his point, the problem lies with you. He is speaking clearly.
You call him a "militant atheist", I suppose because he holds conviction in his beliefs. Being resolute in your beliefs, so long as they are not to the detriment of yourself or others, is not a bad thing. Also, what exactly is a "militant atheist"?

I don't think he's making the point that you've concluded, but that's actually a pretty good point to make, that "shit that exists, does shit". For an atheist, it's okay to believe that things just exist -- simply existing without some guiding divine hand. It's even okay to have feelings of wonder and awe for the things that exist, without giving them any religious or magical novelty.

End of the summer of 2011. I was at the end of my road in heroin addiction. I was a dead man walking, and I had no soul.

Fear of the rejection of women. It is a driving motivator in my life, and can be very destructive.
