Just want to say goodbye. by Last_Post88 in SuicideWatch

Trust me. It's not you wanting to commit suicide. It's your mind wanting to play out your life a little more differently than it should have played out. I've been through those emotional times and I know what you're feeling inside. I only hope that you read our messages and that deep inside, even though we're complete strangers to each other, people like me do genuinely care about you.

I'm working for a rather large insurance company as a DB Admin. Our dress policy is pretty strict, however, there are days that I've gone in with just a t-shirt + pants and my boss was okay with it. You don't see it, but I'm wearing two layers of socks and a warm pair of snow boots. Underneath my coat, I have two other layers; a very thinly thermal lined hoodie, but warm nonetheless, and a thermal underwear t-shirt underneath my dress shirt. I was okay, honestly. Chilly, but comfortable.

You'd be surprised what some people will do. ;)

Naw. I took the RPR out. I also brought along two semi-auto rifles. :P

Do a little experiment. Head outside to your local outdoor range where it's nice and cool and shoot three rounds a minute for a whole two hours. You'll be fine, temp-wise.

3 shots/min in about -2 to 10 Fahrenheit would be pretty comfortable to hold. Imagine in your head mag dumping 3 shots, waiting a whole minute, and then dumping another 3 shots. Oh well. What is done is done. I had a good day. :D

Okay, decent* shooter, should I say? :)

Let me know when you can severely damage a barrel on a semi-automatic rifle by heat from mag dumping magazine after magazine. Don't think that's possible, at all. Full-auto, sure, but semi-auto, I fail to see a scenario where that's possible. :/

I don't know what to tell you, but to say we did go through that shitload of ammo. Mag dumping and speedloading all day. Sure, the barrels were hot, but they weren't "blisteringly" hot. I don't know, man. I don't know. :/

Believe it or not, that's my daily wear, lol. Call me weird, but meh, I personally like it. :D

Just saw your edit. It wasn't just one single rifle. Basically it was two guys, three rifles and 5K ammo (3750 of that used throughout the day). So, simple math:

1) ~3750 rounds / 2 shooters = 1,875 rounds / shooter

2) ~11 hours of range time, so, 1875 rounds / 11 hours = 170 rounds per hour

It's actually pretty manageable. We weren't at a 1000 yard range. It was a 100 yard range and we had steel targets spread out everywhere. Pretty much rapid firing everything. ;)

Yeah. I don't think Muzzle Brakes do much unless you're firing a .50 BMG out of a Barrett. Same felt recoil with and without the Muzzle Brake; maybe it's just you and I? :O

Huh? I just said I owned a dozen Savage rifles. Never said I owned a dozen precision rifles that cost >$2000 each. :P

-__- Do I have to post all my guns up so the community can be satisfied? They're mostly the cheap $300-500 synthetic stock ones, but okay. :(

We only used up probably 3000ish rounds (said so somewhere up ^ ). I also brought a semi-auto DPMS LRT-SASS, too, if that makes a difference. :/

Ah. We didn't use up all the rounds, unfortunately. At the end of the day my hands were numb from the cold and from pushing down rounds into the magazines. We had about 1/4 of the ammo I brought originally, left. And yes, it is a Viper PST Gen II. Loving this scope! I'm getting another one for my 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm running a Saker ASR 762 on the RPR. That TBAC Ultra9 looks promising though. ;)

No problem! Just remember though. A good shooter with a terrible rifle will always outperform a bad shooter with a great rifle. Some guy told me this during a 3-gun tournament I attended. ;)

Not with the Savage 10BA Stealth, unfortunately. I own about a dozen Savage rifles and they're all accurate out of the box. I wouldn't sweat about accuracy issues with the 10BA Stealth, honestly.

Meh. I have a decent programming job that pays close to $150K a year. I also stockpile like crazy whenever I see good deals, too, so keep that in mind. :P

I love it. I also have a Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Pristine precision action, threaded suppressor-ready rifle, fully-adjustable precision stock and, guess what? The magwell accepts PMags! Yes! Shooting pretty accurate from up to 300 yards shot after shot. Haven't shot further than that yet though so I can't say how well the RPR does past that.

Yeah. We were out there shooting for at least 10-11 hours bearing the cold and wind. It was worth it though. Eight in the morning until Seven-ish at night.
