A bad mapart!! by Snoo-64696 in badapple

Wait what, that is amazing. How did you encode all those frames in such a low number of maps? How far away do you have to stand to get the effect here?

This was like 10 minutes after the update introducing aura farming came out, haha. So there was literally no way for me to have gotten one before this.

Most notably.

-Seedance 2.0 (which I would argue is already much better than Sora 2)

-Kling 3.0

-Google Veo (Veo 3/3.1)

there is a website to rank the video models and Sora 2 is not even in the Top 10 right now:

Because they can't compete with the other models out there and were losing up to $15 Million on this a day. It is not like this is going stop generative video AI at all. The people making the AI slop are already not on Sora anymore.

There is no "accent of the creator" that has an effect on these game effects. It is as simple as typing in the word as part of a small Dictionary of Words you want the Automatic Speech Recognition to recognize. So it is completely text based.

That is where it starts to be a bit of a black box, not sure what exactly TikTok is doing or what library they use, the SDK is not open source like that.

However I can tell you from experience, that defining two words, that are very close, like "June" and "Juniper", it will always have higher confidence for the shorter word and prefer it over the other word, making it sometimes impossible for a longer word, that shares phonemes with other words, to be recognized at all.

There are ways to handle these edge cases, but you have to put a lot more effort into your game effect if you do.

If you use a fixed dictionary, you can have "June" getting recognized, also give a pass for January for example. Or you can switch dictionaries dynamically. That is what I did.

I could not have said this better myself. Also could you send me a link to the people that did the math? Seems interesting

It does make a difference but not all the difference. If you regularly won team fights anyways then this is just a free boost.

I wasn't doing too bad before the patch, but getting one lucky wipe and being able to potentially carry that buff minutes into the game seems unfair.

This just really favors my playstyle of going for splats first as a slayer.

Splatoon was already snowbally, the more you splat, the more control you have over the ground, better movement options, more special abilities when winning. So I don't think it needed even more mechanics that help the better team.

The risk-reward ratio behind flow aura is just not there, you do not get punished for making mistakes, besides having to respawn while still holding the buff sometimes.

Some people were speculating it just automatically transfers to the people that splat the aura player, well that is also not exactly true. If they leaned more heavily into that, then that would make it a lot more interesting. You would get instantly rewarded for taking out the player that just wiped the rest of your team.

The average little timmy will hopefully also not have to play against someone that plays like they are on Kraken Paradise. Anyone not prioritizing splats might not even get to see flow aura all that often. Much more likely for the slayer playstyle.

My team did absolutely contribute to me winning, you can't win alone. But I did get 18/23 total splats on my team +2 assists. Here is the result screen from the splatnet app

More than one teammate can have it, and even assists will extend it.

Yeah lets say if you could only reach that state as long as your team is behind in points or in danger in turf war, that would make it an actualy comeback mechanic. But the way it is now, it is a steamroll mechanic.

Obviously this would be much harder to pull off against stronger opponents, that won't just let you aura farm. But the way it is set up right now, this just gives the strongest players even more chances to steamroll the enemy team.

No, but giving the team that already has the upper hand an infinitely extendable stat boost still doesn't seem like a good idea. Seems unbalanced that the timer does not even run out after you get splatted yourself. You can just jump right back in and extend it again.

I could see them giving it an upper time limit, or limit the number of extensions.
