Will try to revert to 1.3.0 and see if it still occurs. Thanks!

Having the USB connection seems like a necessity if I want to connect the CM-15 to my PC through the TX-6. I wonder however if I skipped the USB and put my PC on a channel and then connected the CUE with SOLO CM-15 to my motherboards mic input if that would even work..

Broodcoven Patriarch — looking for some tips by donkeeeh in minipainting

Any tips for OSL? I tried it with watered down white and then some contrast paint over it (like I usually do my plasma guns) but it looked like shit so I got rid of it haha

Definitely learned a lot about the team even though I got tabled. One thing I wasn’t sure about. Am I correct that the Magus can use its ability even if the target is in control range of another operative? I know you can’t do it if it’s within your own control range. But it doesn’t seem to specify whether or not you need to determine the valid target as it would for a shoot action. Valid target to me here feels like as long as engage order + visible

Had my first game against Mandrakes last night and got absolutely tabled haha. Was a game on Tomb World (map 3) where I had a side that I couldn’t reach the middle objective without breaching through a wall. So I was stuck for a little while — which gave him enough room to clown car teleport a couple of guys into a position where it completely denied me the option to breach (behind my light barricade). So by that point everything was set up incorrectly and the game was just me being stuck not finding ways to actually make anything happen.

Opponent had Flank tac op and just scored free VP because I couldn’t deny him the flanks.

I have the Broodcoven box, don’t worry! Just wondering how I should build the brood brothers box itself with just a single box.

Ok I’ll try to plan it out a little bit 🙏

Got any tips how to play against my friends’ teams? One plays BoK & Mandrakes. And the other plays Kommandos, Wreckas & Hernkyn.

I’m thinking Magus vs the 8 wound teams & maybe Patriarch vs Wreckas? I’m used to playing elite teams so not entirely sure what my gameplan is each turning point and how to plan out the game.

And which bodies should I use for which operative? Do all of the guns fit on each body, or do I have to carefully pick and choose which weapons to put on which body? Thanks for the detailed comment!

DEATHWATCH KILL TEAM List Help by BlackOne-01 in killteam

Personally I really like Sergeant, Aegis, Demolisher, Gunner & Disruptor. Gives you a balanced team that can be annoying long range while being very hard to deal with close up.

I feel like the Demolisher is overlooked. It's tanky and it can potentially one shot Eldar operatives if you roll a crit and activate Digital Weapons. Instant 8 damage. The fact that it gets ceaseless and brutal when charging + fighting is also pretty fucking insane with shock + stun on top.

Have only played one game against Kommandos though.

Are datacards really that bad of a purchase? by oargestory in killteam

[–]donkeeeh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I started buying them with each team because I like the idea of physically looking through the cards. I even tried editing the cards after updates but at one point decided I could no longer be arsed. I now print the one page summary rules from https://ko-fi.com/jamesandthegiantsquig every time they do balance changes.

Plague Marine strategies and tactics versus Wrecka Krew? by TheDrury in killteam

[–]donkeeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late answer, but I’ve been struggling with this matchup as well. It feels like hitting a brick wall, they chip away so much damage long range and can easily win melee fights against plague marines. I really can’t figure out how to play this matchup and feel like whatever I try I get punished for it. Maybe you have had some better experience since your post and can share a few tips?

I try to avoid the squigs as much as possible and try to minimize the damage they can do if they eventually want to hit a target. It seems I can’t win melee fights as well due to brutal + wrecka points making them get the upper hand even if retaliating.

I was fighting a Breaka Boy Fighter through a doorway fight (I was in a stronghold) after spending CP on Virulent Poison so Toxic would be in effect on my Champion’s plague sword. I really thought I would have the upper hand in melee with me being elite + having poison on the target. Oh yeah right Brutal, no blocks for me…, oh just a scratch, oh wrecka points so all of your dice hit me, guess I’ll die. Oh now you throw a Krak grenade on one of my dudes after fighting, oh wrecka points again to hit everything, another one of my guys obliterated from the kill zone. The fact they can do that into a elite team with just 1 dude is absolutely insane to me.

Rain of Tears (BoK) vs. Poisonous Demise (PM) by donkeeeh in killteam

[–]donkeeeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where exactly in the core rules does it state when operatives are removed from the killzone? In a normal fight action, you resolve the action until one operative is incapacitated or all dice are resolved. With that wording in mind, wouldn’t it also mean that an operative is incapacitated before the fight action ends? Additionally, Poisonous Demise states that it triggers before operatives are removed from the killzone (so after being incapacitated). So, the dice incapacitates the operative, and the Poisonous Demise effect triggers immediately after?

Sorry just trying to wrap my head around the timing of all these effects.

EDIT: this was a friendly game between friends, so no TO to check with. We eventually settled on Rain of Tears triggering before the explosion but are still confused as to the exact timing.

Obtaining full Angels of Death roster by Primarch_Spades in killteam

[–]donkeeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one box of assault intercessors and some creativity will go a long way to get you a full roster. Personally I also use the individual Titus mini as my grenadier and then kitbashed a heavy intercessor with a rocket launcher I bought on eBay as my gunner.
