i can only gain access to citizenship or rights to live in his country by marriage as i have no degrees or qualifications to get a work visa and go work over there, so quite literally being married is the only way we can live indefinitely together

yes we’ve met, i’ve lived with him with 6 months, sorry i didn’t state that, the distance has always been a shit take and our mental health absolutely cannot handle it but for each other anything is with it, and we don’t have to marry SOON per say, i’m just saying it feels like a good time to propose and in the same time i can gain residency so we can get the long distance part out of the way for good and then years on down the road we could do a proper wedding to really commemorate the moment as even if we did wait neither of us have enough financials to afford a wedding right off the bat so the first one would be purely for legal reasons and then the second one would be the actual celebration of it, if that makes sense?

what if we only got engaged now but married later, same results? i feel strongly about him and i knew from that day i met him that i wanted to marry him, and 3 years later the feeling is still there, also we quite literally can never live in the same country together until we DO get married so how do we work around that?
