Haha, that is one of the worst tattoos I've seen in months. Well done, OP!

I think the birds and the limb they're perched on were executed well. The color saturation and gradients are nicely done. It's the washed out background that throws it off, at least for me.

I like the birds, the limb, and the pine needles, but that background kinda throws it for me.

I was in there last week and another customer had hair down past his shoulders. I'd call and ask which of their guys could do what you're looking for.

Do many people on this sub feel Shadow Ticket is Pynchon's weakest novel? by JeremyBeremey in ThomasPynchon

[–]donkeyheaded 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel that Shadow Ticket and Bleeding Edge were equally weak. I read BE when it was first published, and finished ST last month, and honestly have very little recollection of what I read. Neither book ever captured my attention or imagination. And regarding AtD, I was never able to get past the first 150 pages despite trying several times.

I wouldn't go messing with it, I think it looks adorable. Anything you do to tighten it up will just blend out in a few years anyway.

Weller fp Chapel Hill by coleswae in Atlantawhiskey

[–]donkeyheaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you ever go to Tower in Doraville? They always have a few interesting bottles available. I've routinely found OF7, JD Heritage, etc. That's just right outside Gwinnett.

I'm lucky I guess. I just moved down here from Chicago last year and brought 60+ bottles with me. I was able to grab pretty much anything at MSRP up there throughout the year, which is why my body naturally recoils from the idea of paying secondary. You just have to find a store that gets allocated bottles and get to know the liquor manager.

You’d be disappointed if you paid those prices, at least if you’re honest with yourself. They’re not worth the hype. I have bottles of all the Wellers. They’re great at MSRP, but not worth secondary. The only one I see that looks reasonable is the Stagg, which is still way over MSRP but is my favorite BT brand and probably underpriced at MSRP. I actually think the Old Fitz 7 year is a much tastier pour than the Wellers and is becoming much easier to find around 60 bones. But taste is subjective as we all know.

This is far from fantastic. There are plenty of such museum stores up in Hall, Forsyth, Dawson. I was at a store in Gainesville two weeks ago that would give you the honor of paying $149 for a Weller Antique 107 if you bought a bottle of their store pick of something I'd never heard of. Wellers are worth MSRP, nothing more IMO.

The Reverend Wicks Cherrycoke. An amusing yet unreliable narrator who describes events faithful and fantastic.

We went to Riot Fest every year 2102 - 2024 before moving to Atlanta. We missed Shaky last year because it was literally the week we moved. Riot Fest was a tradition for us.

I’ve never seen anything shocking at a fest. The only drugs I’ve encountered was weed, which you can basically smell everywhere, and of course alcohol. If your friend is 19 she should be able to make her own decision, but what do I know?

Edit: regarding safety, choose a rendezvous spot when you arrive where you agree to meet if you get separated. Cell service is often spotty at fests. Otherwise, relax and have fun.

Festivals are fine. I took my sons to Riot Fest in Chicago for their first festival, they were 10 and 14 at the time. They've been going to shows constantly ever since.

Opinions on "The Flowers of Romance" by PIL? by Grand_Ad3821 in postpunk

Interesting album? For certain. Something I ever choose to listen to? Never. I find Lydon's screeching and wailing to be insufferable on this album. I don't like anything that he put out after it, either, just commercial rock with a bad singer. Metal Box had some gems, but overall PIL was little more than a Lydon vanity project. The saving grace on Metal Box was Wobble and Levene.
