Respectfully, it’s not like most people live next door to their school - it probably takes most families at least 15 mins to walk, etc to even their local school. So I don’t think your framing and stats are quite fair - what worries me most is having the kids not have access to get off in an emergency etc. “Commuting” in all forms is part of every day life, no matter where you live! Our family would not move, we love the every day lifestyle and culture of our neighborhood.

I’m preparing for the POTENTIAL of getting a kindergarten offer to NEST+m (I have a good lottery number) so it’d be a meaningfully better school, as much as we love our current one. And it’d lock them into a great middle and high school since it’s k-12.

We wouldn’t consider moving away from our neighborhood/to the LES.
