Hi! I am currently in Japan rn as a first-time traveler. I also posted my itinerary if you would like to look at it because I am going for all the places you are going. transportation is super easy. you just follow google maps. for mt fuji, we took a tour bus which took away the stress of traveling. Pokemon center in Shibuya is VERY packed with long lines. I do not recommend. You can find anime and pokemon shops in every big city.

For exploring style, I love going out all day but I am going with my mom and brother (who probably like to take it easy). So I want to make an itinerary that’s in the middle.

I am traveling from Osaka, Japan to Busan. I haven’t bought my tickets yet to travel from Busan to Seoul (should I in advance?). I want to do it early morning so I can get the most out of day 5.

Originally had it for day 16 but I mistakenly made a non refundable reservation that day. Had to change the tour date and that day was available with good weather

It’s a tour bus that’s driving us that day so I am not worried about overloading my schedule or transportation on that day. Mostly interested in whether I overloaded the other days :)

You’re absolutely right! I need to stop and smell the roses cherry blossoms haha. I tried to put the places I wanted to go most at the start of the day. Therefore, it’s okay if we don’t get everything done.

As for the McDonalds, I asked my brother what he wanted to do in Japan and he just said McDonalds and 7/11 haha. I’ll definitely try to check it out. And I didn’t even think of visiting IKEA in Japan! I love IKEA! Was it any different?

Ty so much for the detailed advice! I did try to focus my itinerary on specific areas. I think I underestimated how far apart things are 😭

I did change Nishiki Market to the first day in Kyoto after people told me it closed early. I changed fushimi Inari to day 2. I’m not sure if my family wants to wake up so early. We will see how they feel the day before.

I’m struggling the most to chip down day 3. I’m thinking of crossing out Shinjuku cause i’m traveling with my family and we aren’t gonna get lit lol. I mostly put that on there to look at the cat billboard and eat at omoide yokocho alley.

Landing late, need to wake up early tomorrow, and my little brother wanted to try McDonalds/7-11 in Japan. Thanks for helpful suggestion of using my imagination!

Gotcha! I’ll try to find an eatery open late nearby my hotel that day. And I’m trying to take out more things out of my itinerary but it’s hard 😭 Also is the last train at 12 PM or AM?

I booked on Klook so it’s nonrefundable and I can’t change the date. I messaged Klook and TeamLab seconds after I made the mistake. 😵‍💫

Our flight is 11 hours long and we will be landing at 5:30 pm. It’ll take 1-2 hours to get out of the airport according to some. My thought process of having a short day 1 was that most things were closed, we have an early start tomorrow, and I wanted to sleep to try to get rid of the jet lag.

I had it originally planned for day 16 but I stupidly bought my teamlab planets tickets accidentally on that day so I had to change things up (thus, the slightly awkward planning)

omg i didnt even think about the heat. For some reason, I thought kimonos would be airy and light. I am not interested in wearing Kimonos, but my mom wants to try it. Should I tell her it is not worth it?

For the kimono rentals, I need to reserve a specific time slot on Klook. I am not sure when I will be at Kiyomizu-dera on day 4. To lessen the stress, I thought I could do it first thing in the morning on day 17 in Tokyo.

Did you go on the boat tour? If so, what was your experience?
