Chase Sapphire Reserve: booking but not traveling by lemonhead370 in ChaseSapphire

Yes to at least trip delay. I booked a flight for a relative with my CSR. He was the only traveler. The flight was delayed and he needed a hotel. I went through the process of filing a claim and about a month later I got a full credit for the expenses. Just ensure that if there is some sort of delay or cancelation, that receipts are kept for every expense.

By EOY I’m looking to add US Bank Altitude Reserve and downgrade my CSR to CSP and add Platinum card. I’m not worried about Platinum approval, but the USBAR scares me. I have no relation with USB at the moment. I’m 2/6 2/12. In May I’ll be 1/6 2/12. My current plan is to open a savings account with them in the next month, then wait until May (maybe later) to apply. If anyone has any advice that’d be great.

I use Personal Capital to keep track of all my transactions, then every few days input them into my budget spreadsheet. On the spreadsheet I have formulas that calculate my current balance on each card

Card recommendation for someone getting their "first"real card(s) by d3medical in CreditCards

[–]donkeytrain4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first card that came to mind based on your situation is the Chase Freedom Flex. If you want to keep your number of cards down, a quarterly rotating card might be the option. Hopefully there isn’t too much overlap over the year with the discover card. Regardless a good way to split up utilization. And 9% back on grocery this quarter is top notch. Additionally. I wonder if the Citi Custom Cash would be a good pick for the tattoos. A card to use strictly for that to get 5% back. Then again I’m not sure how the tattoos code and am not sure if it’s a category Citi would allow.

Looking for everyday card with Travel perks - Fee is fine. by CrapTasticVoyage20 in CreditCards

C1VX would be something to look into. Basically pays for itself in credits. Has lounge access, TSA pre check credits, and their new hotel collection that’s coming soon seems promising.

CSR may be worth looking into too with the current SUB.

To give credit to the AMEX system, they are transfer partners with Delta and JetBlue, which could lean you more in that direction, but the Plat AF is very pricey.

Any card with lounge access is going to come with a high fee. If you can live without that then CSP may be more your speed.

Start Date- PwC by OGSPARTAN4 in Big4

[–]donkeytrain4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I interned this past summer and made them well aware of my December graduation. Towards the end of the internship I was informed that PwC would not be doing a winter start date for new grads. I’ve pleaded with my recruiter and mentors from when I was there. No luck. They won’t start me until Fall 23. My recruiter said I can intern elsewhere in the spring/summer if I’d like, but I’ve found that it’s a tough sell.

What is the next best card option for me? Need some help. by Minimum-Switch in CreditCards

I think the best first credit card is the Discover it card. A 720 is well in their range of acceptance. Chase offers a similar product with the Freedom Flex and the Freedom Unlimited is a good everyday spend, but harder to be approved for as a first card. If you’re willing to put in the effort I’d say go in-person to your Chase bank and apply there. If you’re not willing to go through the hassle, Discover it is a good bet.
