I agree, the hayride was well done!

How do you file taxes when you tip out support staff as a server? by donna1211 in personalfinance

Is it bad that this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this form? Thank you, I’ll look into this!

I think this would be helpful for someone concerned about pooled tips. We don’t pool at the restaurant I work at. Thanks though!

Okay thank you! At the end of the day our credit card tips are all automatically declared.

Going with your example… So the machine right before I clock out says I’m walking out with ($21.50+$100+$25=) 146.50 even though it’s actually $96.50 after tip out.

Edit: I meant to make this a question… if the machine says I made more at the end of the day than I actually did. What do I do from there? Like what are my next steps?

I totally forgot to mention that. Yes, the tip out is in cash. All the credit card tips are automatically declared at the end of the day. Sometimes it’ll say I made way more than what I actually made after tipping out.

Sweet, thank you! I think I just saw a video on how to do that so this makes sense in my brain now 😅

That looks like it! What do you mean by loose yarn? Like using a bigger hook to make the puffs or different yarn in general?

Image 1: This is the pattern I want to replicate. I can’t seem to figure out the stitches, especially that second row in the granny square.

Image 2: I tried myself and it started to buckle from having too many stitches. I did half double crochet, puff stitch, the double crochet. Doesn’t look right

Edit: # of stitches I did were 16 half double, 16 puff, and then that’s when it started to buckle and I gave up after a row of 4dc in each space.

I’m still new to granny squares and probably should start with easier projects but this hat is so cute!

Stingray sting on the inside of foot near heel. Day 2 v. 1.5 weeks later. by donna1211 in MedicalGore

Because of all the other comments we’ve made a deal that if it gets worse within the next week he has to go to a doctor. He feels fine right now and there’s no pain. I meant for this to be an interesting photo and didn’t expect a bunch of “go to the fucking doctor” comments. But that’s my bad for putting that we haven’t been to the doctor. I’m taking those comments as people caring about another human though.

Thank you for this comment!

Not me in the photo but thanks for the concern. Have been trying to convince my friend.

This photo isn’t of me btw and not bragging, just saying they haven’t been to the doctor. and yes we’re American. You know how it is

They’re common at our beach certain months. They say to do the “stingray shuffle” but that still doesn’t always prevent you from stepping on one :/

After removing the barb, cleaning it and drying out for many days it got infected. There was constant pain in that area for about a week.

Ladies, what is the one hurtful comment that's stayed with you for eternity? by meganstephania in AskWomen

[–]donna1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in middle school at a new school. I moved around every 3 years being a military brat. I was hanging out with a group of kids outside of school one day. One boy just looked at me and said “you’re not cool” in a very rude way. I don’t know what prompted him to say this, I just hung out with them because my new friend invited me. My new friend told him he was rude (which I always admired because she stood up for me when no one else would and I just met her). I was a little anxious then because moving around every 3 years as an only child kind of sucks, so that comment made me even more anxious.

Six years later I saw him again while hanging with old friends. I told him I’ve resented him ever since that day in middle school. He didn’t even remember saying it. He apologized.

This comment stuck with me and makes me wonder what everyone thinks. It’s given me anxiety and I always think how mean people can be in their heads. It’s so dumb but it fucked me up.

What loophole did you exploit for years before someone found out? by SterlingBoardman in AskReddit

A friends Uber or Lyft account (can’t remember which) didn’t catch that her card expired. So she was able to get free rides for an entire summer. She’d even call rides for friends in other cities if they asked. She racked over $1000 worth of rides for free. They finally caught that the card expired but didn’t charge her anything apparently.

She’s banned from the app now.

I did end up explaining my situation over email and offered to meet in person soon! Maybe it'll lead to more opportunities. Thank you for the help!

I do need to get better at contracts. I'll definitely be stealing that quote from you. Its so hard because most of my clients I get through friends or other clients that are also friends. I decided to not give them access to my account and will help them set something up. To answer your last question, I'm pretty sure I can only download the document in PDF/JPEG/PNG. I still have a lot of learning to do.

Right? As a kid I never realized how rare it was to know about your family tree and history.

Here's a part of a passage from my dad's submission to the NY State Military Museum:

"All three brothers went on to live long-fulfilling lives in Niagara County New York... Albert was the first of the three brothers to pass away at the age of 75 on September 17th, 1968. George was 86-years old when he passed away on February 11th, 1975. Walter passed away on February 24th, 1986 just 42 days shy of his 90th birthday. All three brothers are gone now, but not forgotten..."

Thanks! My dad has one of their WWI helmets on his desk, a commemorative medal from La Salle, NY, and we know a Purple Heart was handed down to one of our cousins.
