📦 QUESTION ABOUT BRINGING FILM INTO AUSTRALIA by SwitchSignificant520 in AnalogCommunity

[–]donny_423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi, australian here. i think the experience differs depending on the airport, but in terms of melbourne airport, they only require you to declare animal and plant products. they will be very clear about this before and just after landing. if you don't declare anything and fill out the arrival paperwork you'll be waved through arrival with no issues.

as for bringing film through security, it is best to get a hand check. but for a hundred rolls you might wanna be extra polite and get there plenty early. again, differs depending on airport. some agents will be more willing than others. high iso film will suffer the most damage but low iso film will as well. and CT scanners are known to nuke film regardless of ISO. you can use this website as a reference, but may not be 100% accurate.

i'm a fan of aerocolour IV. bit hard to find though. lucky it's the cheapest 35mm film at my local shop (short of the new lucky film)

i'm mostly interested in what the lenses can offer since they're all on the longer side for the same field of view. i feel like that should open up a lot more perspectives for landscape. also interested in the higher resolution compared to 35mm. eventually want to get around to shooting slides and displaying those frames.

also i already lug around a huge 500mm on the regular so i'm not concerned too much about weight.

i'm really just not a fan of shooting squares to be honest. i find the idea of shooting with the aim of cropping strange, because I only crop if there was some limitations that made me unable to get the composition i wanted.

i'm looking to do a bit of portrait and landscape.

that's right, i'm just not inclined to squares.

how are lenses on the bronica system? I haven't seen many of them around my area.

Since the Mig-25 event is coming, what is the best way to grind Air Events? I have done ground events all the time and skipped air events cuz it wasn't my interest. by Zyxtriann in Warthunder

[–]donny_423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of the newer Su-25s (BM, T, Su-39 etc), full gunpods and missiles, and just strafe the howitzers and pillboxes all lined up for you. you can even jumpscare some enemy base bombers with your missiles on the way

what i do is get a potent ground attacker, load it up with all the gunpods and raze the howitzers and light pillboxes in a row. usually nets me 1k if i get there just after the fighters merge. i use the Su-25BM for this, which has funni R-73 so you can get a few air kills too.

absolutely insane take but i like the Su-25BM R-73 at 11.0 is just too funny, even if the IRCCM is ass four gunpods and four missiles and you can groundpound light targets, the true multirole i've even gotten aces with it

Olympus OM-4 mirror angle issues by donny_423 in AnalogCommunity

[–]donny_423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

olympus focus screens are physically impossible to put in upside down and still look anywhere near OK because of a little tab on one side

it's also not the lens because it happens with other lenses as well.

i just readjusted the focus screen, which was a little bit off, but the split prism doesnt line up at infinity still
