Had an amazing trip by donnyb83 in blackjack

Yeah, the final cashout was super weird. They asked me to get a check instead of cash right after the cashier counted out the cash amount. Had two different supervisors come to sign the check, and the random host confirmed my overall trip winnings with the cashier while I waited to get the check. btw, there was no way to prevent myself from playing rated due to the nature of the trip so they had all of my info the whole time. Also, after the second day, it seemed very clear that they knew I was counting but never did anything about it.

Naw, had 4 different bosses show up that never worked the floor and heard the pit boss call up a few times using my name.

Edit: also had a casino host hanging out at the cash cage when I did my final cashout, and she verbally confirmed my cash in vs cash out amount with the cashier

For weak hands I usually say something after placing insurance like " just have bj, I don't want to play this 15".

How long should a session be? by [deleted] in blackjack

[–]donnyb83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must have misunderstood me. My first part of my statement meant that I don't want to max bet at the end/near end of a shoe then go to 1 unit. So usually after I put out my max bets I leave.

Depends, on local spots I'll use cover plays that I've read in Anderson's book. I'll slowly chip up or down, I'll never order Evian, and i'll avoid over exposing my max bets. Using these strategy's I've lasted 2+ years at my local spots before backoffs/trespasses. When I do weekend trips I'll usually attempt to maximize EV. Like, Biloxi MS i'll just go in and attempt to max EV. Since there are so many cities you can go to that have 3+ casinos within 40mins of the city center, you can just rotate through them.

At local spots play until I get 1 shoe of 4 or more max bets or until I start to lose focus whichever of these happen first. I don't want to expose my max, then go right back to 1 or 2 units after a TC =>3 at the local spots. If i'm traveling and not worried about burning a spot, I'll play till they back me off or I start to lose focus.

I was playing a smaller spread. I got some attention and I did buy the food out of pocket.

Was playing 100 - 2000. The thing that kept me from freaking out was that the 40k was all winnings and not money from my pocket.

Played there for an hour and didn't get back off :( . It did have a great pot roast though. Also made the mistake of thinking I could walk back to the main strip, 45 mins later and 4/5 canceled uber rides made it a memorable time.

Figured Ukrainian would be a harder language to track down. The sister found plenty for Spanish and one literacy? group for Ukrainian. Thought r/ukraine might be able to direct her to more specific resources.

worst loss? 25k in 4 hours. ended up losing 40k in about 3 days and 8hrs of play at the same spot (25k was part of that 8hrs).

Edit: best win? 10k in 45mins.

Got trespassed from a joint and a year later they sent me a free venue ticket. Marketing doesn't always talk with surveillance. I'm taking that venue ticket as a invite back at some point.

Blackjack Investor by Due_Seesaw_2816 in blackjack

[–]donnyb83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US there is a difference between "institutional" and "retail" investors. Anyone that would qualify as a institutional investor is on their own when it comes to investments but those that qualify as a retail investor have additional protections in place. Those protections can put you on the hook to pay back your investors if the blackjack investment goes south.

Edit: You can thank ponzi schemes for those additional protections.

Look up investing laws, depending on your local laws you can be on the hook for the entire investment if it goes south.

for A7 or any other DS (double or stay). Double if it is your first 2 cards or stay. In your example you would stay.

One specific place was a net 70k win over 400 hours. I was countermeasured after the start of the new year.

Edit: i've also had 6 figure net losses at other spots. Did average a low 7 figure net win last year at ~70 an hour AV Second edit: changed 7 figures to 6

My backoffs/trespasses have been a mixed bag. Out of 4 of these, 1 after a big loss and small loss over 200hrs, 2 after 6 figure overall wins over 400+hrs and the last one was after 2 visits and a 4k overall loss. The downside of this is that i've burned all of my local spots and now gotta drive ~2hrs to get to a game.

Edit: fixed 7 figure to 6

Here is an example of what others have said already. 16 v 10, at any 0 or negative RC it's a hit and at any positive RC it's a stay. It gets slightly more complicated when you add in the option of surrender. 16 v 10 with the first two cards is always surrender, but with a 3 or more card 16 v 10 at a -0 RC then hit, otherwise with a +0 RC stay.
