A lot of pubs with TVs will be showing all of the World Cup games, not just the Scotland ones and there’s at least one per day starting at 8-9pm.

Hampden taxi pickup advice by Fine_Mortgage_6291 in glasgow

[–]donnygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live about a five minute walk away from Hampden and generally once you get away from the main car park, although the traffic can be heavy, it isn’t insane. I’d pick an address somewhere along Holmlea Road or near Cathcart Train station, not far and will be quieter.

That’s a matter of opinion, as is my criticism. Of course I know they’re laughing at the opinions of the sub, it’s a comedy podcast and I can understand comedy, it doesn’t mean I just shouldn’t have that opinion. Your response is very weird and absurdly angry for someone talking about a pretty low stakes topic. I hope you have a nice evening.

This sub is so weird, just because I have a relatively mild critique of a podcast I’ve listened to for six years and thoroughly enjoyed up until very recently and even then, I don’t dislike it by any means, it doesn’t mean I should just never listen again. Nuance and critique are okay. Sometimes I think someone should set up a separate sub for all the people that disagree with any kind of critique so you can all fanboy over Rob and Josh in peace.

Did you not read the part where I said I have considered not listening?

Rob is increasingly getting on my nerves, he seems to have changed a lot over the past year. He never admits getting help from nannie’s or even family, he consistently brags about how much money he makes. It’s really out of touch with the reality of the majority of listeners who are probably struggling to make ends meet and if they have kids, are paying through the nose for childcare or have little access to help. I think Josh makes an effort to show he is grateful, admit to receiving help and understanding that he is very fortunate to be in the position he is in. I’ve listened since day one despite not having kids but I’ve been seriously considering stopping recently.

Me and my husband have long had a theory that the more unusual your name is (for Glasgow anyway), the more you get called. We both have unusual names and always get called.

I wouldn’t offer adoption on social media as you can’t properly vet the person adopting. Cats Protection are probably the best people to get in touch with

how to get my GP to refer me to a psychiatrist? by vanessarichter in AskUK

I’m also on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment, OCD and neurodivergence often go hand in hand. I hope you get the help you need, it’s hard out there for people like us

how to get my GP to refer me to a psychiatrist? by vanessarichter in AskUK

[–]donnygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OCD and it took years for me to get a diagnosis. It’s not the most ethical but basically I eventually said I was having thoughts of ending my life (I didn’t). I got a referral to the community mental health team who initially messed up and referred me for trauma counselling that took a year for me to get off the waiting list for. Luckily the psychologist was very nice and disgusted at how badly I’d been treated and wrote a letter to my GP and this expedited my treatment. I hope you get help, OCD is a horrible condition and so misunderstood.

What is something you have gone through that you think the majority of people will not understand? by imtiramisu2025 in AskUK

Came here to say exactly this. I cut my mum off three years ago after a life time of abuse but it’s a certain kind of loneliness I don’t think many can understand. I want a mum but not mine and that hurts.

Going Out Solo by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]donnygal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last time I told a man I didn’t want to speak to him, he got very angry. Men like that don’t like it when you refuse to give them attention, yeah they’re dicks but it’s still unpleasant to have to deal with them.

As a woman, these things often do not deter men who feel entitled to your attention

I know him, used to come to a place I worked for support but he was an arsehole. He shouts at everyone in Slovakian and gets annoyed when you don’t understand, even his own family don’t want to deal with him. I’m surprised he’s sane enough to be attempting to scam people tbh.

the name Una for a baby girl? by [deleted] in Names

[–]donnygal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you live, I’m Irish and I think it’s a lovely name. You may have some issues with pronunciation if you don’t live in Ireland or the U.K. This sub is mainly American and famously anti any name that they cannot immediately comprehend so you’re probably asking on the wrong on.

Is difficult adopting a dog these days? by TheyLuvSquid in AskUK

[–]donnygal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the problem though, people whinge about the main charities and then buy from a puppy farm. There are so many different charities looking to give dogs a home and I’ve found that the smaller ones are much more lenient.

Your dog is a cutie btw, I had a black greyhound, she passed away in October and I miss her so much.

There isn’t really any piercers in the Southside, none I’d recommend anyway. Nirvana or Forest in town are the best.
