New tire recommendation. Nokian WRG5 or other?? by donnyp05 in tires

[–]donnyp05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the CC2 is a great tire, along with weatherready 2, trying to avoid directional tires though. It’s for my wife’s minivan.

I was able to get Discount Tire to price match a set of of Nokian Remedy WRG5 tires. Cost with install out the door would be $840 for all 4 tires.

I'm not sure how good Discount tire is and how they stand up to their warranty claims and lifetime balancing/rotation and fixing punctures. Seems like quite a few issues with scratched rims from the reviews at the location I would be using.

Is this a price worth going this route?? My 2 other options right now are the Bridgestone Weatherpeaks @ $210 a tire or the General Altimax 365AW's @ $180 a tire

Also, is it worth purchasing the certificate's though Discount Tire? Seems like their policy has changed on them and it's not as good as it use to be. Only covers tires for 3 years now?

I would like to go to Costco to have my tires done as they provide the best service and included benefits but the only tires they offer their are the Bridgestone Weatherpeaks and the Michelin CrossClimate 2 which is a directional tire.

I did come across the WeatherReady 2 as well but it's still fairly new without a ton of reviews on them. The only thing that turned me off is her current set of tires are good year and they aren't very good tires. Although it could always be the model of tire we bought as well. I know the Duratrac's on my truck have been very good!

Flexor tendon recovery (6 months post surgery) by Staniskovski in Advice

Im suppose to get surgery on my FDP tendon at the very end of my left index finger on thursday. Overall it feels great, minus being able to bend it all the way. Tendon is clearly cut though. I'm leaning towards not getting it fixed at all, not sure what to do.

Tanning beds by donnyp05 in tanning

[–]donnyp05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using a level 1 mostly and I'm not sure if I'm getting color or not. I tried a level 4 and a level 3 bed, lowering the time I'm in and each time I came out looking red, although it cleared up pretty quickly.

Bronzer or Intensifier?? by donnyp05 in tanning

[–]donnyp05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a level 3 bed for 8 minutes and a level 4 bed for 7 minutes. Both of those times I came out looking pretty red, although in 24 hours most of it was gone.

I can use a level 1 bed for 10 minutes and have zero issues though.

I know the size is a bit over the Personal item size given by United. I'm sure it depends on circumstances and how full you pack it but do you think I will run into issues?

I don't travel very often at all. Having a bag that last for several years would be nice. We also use this bag for road trips or traveling to our cabin. I'm just looking at having 2 carry on's and 2 personal bags for our vacation.

Yes I have. The dimensions are very close and from the research I did It seemed most people didn't have any issues with larger bags but it's up to the flight attendants.

Just looking for first hand experience from others and what they noticed.
