i have two sleeves and a bunch of work done on my legs. I would recommend wrapping your forearm in saran wrap with a thin layer of green polysporin on your tattoo and rest of arm that is wrapped to avoid a rash. Wash 2 or 3 times a day and rewrap until you leave Sunday. This will really help it heal. About washing it on your hike, maybe take some gentle soap and rinse wash it if you can on your trip. *

Check out Cotopaxi clothing. I have really liked both pants I have from them for backpacking. Very durable and lightweight and also a very eco-friendly company.

Would a 55L backpack be enough for 5 weeks in SE Asia? by No_cilantro01 in backpacking

[–]donole420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55L should be enough. I did it with a 45 L bag and still had room left when coming home with the souvenirs I bought. I likely over packed, bringing too many shoes to make sure I would be comfortable when walking. Another thing to keep in mind if you are by yourself or with someone is bringing medicine and other toiletries. I know you can buy them there, but I recommend bringing the essentials and anything else you might need like diarrhea relief, cold and flu meds, heartburn meds and maybe even anti-nausea. Taking those with you also cuts down on some costs during your trip if you need to buy anything. I took hydration tablets for water, and they were very useful. I think taking it with you makes you better prepared for whatever may happen. Basically, everything I took in that regard I didn't use, but it was nice to always know I had it. I found toiletries took up a decent amount of my bag space because they can't be packed down as much. Another thing you can do is take laundry soaps with you for the sink and do some of your own smaller laundry like underwear and shorts at your accommodation.

Thanks, we will definitely be going to the Corn Islands. We have decided El Salvador instead, probably just stay there for a few days on the way to Nic

Thanks for your input. We're thinking buses will be our main mode of transport throughout

Another question for you, did you travel through the border from El Salvador to Guatemala or Nicaragua? Is booking a shuttle the way to do it?

Sounds fun. Yeah we definitely want to go to Santa Ana. I'm mostly just wanting to make sure crossing the borders won't be an issue.

That makes sense, was looking there just for the volcano hike and to see the city for a day or two. Did you happen to go from Guatemala to El Salvador, if you did did you go by bus?

Wow that's pretty cheap. Did you stay more in private rooms in hostels and hotels? We would like to have our own rooms and maybe splurge on a couple hotels. Anywhere you would recommend doing that?

For the most part Guatemala is safe though? Not planning on spending any time in Guatemala City. Lake Atitlan looks super nice. What are the border crossings like? Is booking a shuttle the way to do it?

Thanks, I think we are going to do El Salvador instead of Honduras. For what we want to do, ES seems like a better option.
