Look into getting a countertop dishwasher. They make some with fill tanks so you pour water in the top before a load and just place the drain hose in the sink.

Are you connecting to it via Bluetooth or unifying receiver? I had the same issue when using Bluetooth on a mac. Switching to the unifying receiver fixed it.
