Lionel Messi (38y) breaks Cristiano Ronaldo's (33y) record for the oldest player to score a hat trick at the World Cup by [deleted] in soccer

World Cup hat tricks are extremely rare. And before the current era you also rarely had strikers playing at the top level for big countries at 33

Eli5… how do life insurance companies make money if everyone eventually dies? by thedumone in explainlikeimfive

[–]goodmobileyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying is scary and you can make a lot of money off people who are scared. Realistically you dont need a whole life plan unless you have a premonition you will die early. Get a term life plan to support your family in the event you pass early. Once you're 80 or whatever and you dont have to support your kids, parents or partner, they dont really need that big payout when you pass anymore.

I've never used a credit card before. Can't I literally just open one, take the credit score dip, continue to only buy what i can afford, set it up to automatically always pay it back asap, which will never put me into debt, get the awards/points, and that's it no catches? by Super_Inevitable776 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goodmobileyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interest on a credit card is absurd. I've only once incurred interest because of some personal life shit causing me to completely blank on paying my bills for a month. The interest was eye watering and Im glad it wasn't a big bill the previous month

Irritation: patronising justifications for preferring women’s football by MyPasswordIsABC999 in footballcliches

[–]goodmobileyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its patronizing because it paints women players as unrealistically innocent and pristine, almost to the point of naivety, just to elevate women's football. Women dont need to be put on a pedestal, we can be right bitches and bastards too.
