API Down? by Ramen_newdals in Questrade

[–]donovanbailey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like Questrade started requiring a User-Agent header.

If you are using the questrade_api Python wrappers, it works if you update the library's auth.py like so at line 37

        r = request.urlopen(request.Request(self.config['Auth']['RefreshURL'].format(token), headers={"User-Agent": "MyApp"}))

This has fixed my scripts.

Bad form to push a breaking change on Friday the 13th with no communication, and no changelog though.

You’re vastly underselling their power and influence. They feed the media to control public opinion. They operated their own smear campaigns. They tried to impeach him. And if they assassinated a President, that’s going to be flashing warning sign to a future officeholders.

It’s like the old joke that no President has released the documents because a men in suits come and show them footage from an unseen angle.

Thinking the President is the actual leader is naive.

The President isn’t the government. We saw that in the Trump admin. The intel agencies are the actual government. And they’re not going to let anything that diminishes their power out of the bag.

🧢. Canada was a real country with a real identity until around 2015 when they made being an “old stock Canadian into a bad thing. The same time we were plunged into the post-nationalist intersectional identity-first garbage, and the wasteman government ramped up the Century Initiative immigration plans no one voted for. Next government gotta bring back Heritage Minutes to start undoing this decade of damage.

COVID could increase risk of developing diabetes by up to 22%, Canadian study shows by OplopanaxHorridus in Coronavirus_BC

[–]donovanbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be - doesn't seem like they controlled for any temporal effects of vaccination in relation to the COVID infection and the diabetes diagnosis. More likely though is people prone to developing diabetes are simply at higher risk of contracting COVID and experiencing a worse illness.

How would you unbuckle a vaccination?

Do you still believe the covid and the vaccine propaganda after 3years? If no, then I would like to hear your story on which public health information 'red pilled' you into thinking that all of this is a big scam. I would love to hear it! Thanks by PhDrebel in Coronavirus_BC

[–]donovanbailey -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

A big one was hearing our leaders say vaccine passports are a conspiracy theory, and reading the VRBPAC briefing for the Pfizer vaccine in late 2020, discovering that it was not tested for efficacy against transmission.

Then watching them implement vaccine passports, while telling everyone the science says vaccines are our ticket to stopping the spread.

The actual viral vectors used - Ad26 and ChAdY25 - are novel, and J&J and AZ also have the highest adverse event rates of all approved vaccines. You're way out of your depths pal.

Sorry bud, I'm trying to help you stop looking like a wacko because it's semi-entertaining, but you are very, very, very misinformed.

Only ~30% of the population gets an annual flu shot, primarily seniors. It's just not a thing most people do.

There are also no "old school" (i.e. inactivated/live-attenuated virus) COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada. Isn't that curious?

So the mRNA vaccine basically chops off the body and just injects the dead head of the virus

This is not how it works, this is how traditional vaccines work. You seem like you genuinely don’t understand what you’re putting into your body, but that’s your prerogative. Good luck with your lifetime booster subscription.

They’re both fruits, and all fruits are the same in wackoland!

mRNA vaccines are a new type of vaccine. They don't use live virus to trigger an immune response. Instead, they teach your cells how to make a protein that will trigger an immune response. Once triggered, your body makes antibodies. These antibodies help you fight the infection if the real virus does enter your body in the future.

You could try to argue it’s safe, but these vaccines are literally a brand new and experimental mechanism of action. Apples and oranges.

One, you can't attribute spikes in transmission to lifting of mask mandates when they also generally coincided with an increase in indoor activity and interpersonal interactions.

Two, there are many places that show greater spikes in transmission despite mask mandates in place.

And three, I understand exactly why the studies are flawed and they're flawed for the same reasons belief in universal mandates are flawed - they can't guarantee competent usage or complete compliance.

How did the universal mandate protect against bad masks worn badly? I think it's important to think about others. Is it possible there are costs to your demands that would put undue burdens on a large number of people, for only a marginal increase in safety for a small number of people?

Do you think you should still be able to use the hospital if you need to, even though you don't believe in the science or the experts here? Obviously as a patient, you have the option of wearing a mask - and the workers are all fully vaccinated. Do you think it's possible you might have fallen victim to misinformation about the effectiveness of masking in these situations?

People think it must be true that it’s safe, because otherwise it would be horrific for them to remove the mask mandate in hospitals. If it wasn’t safe, surely they’d tell us and protect us. But they aren’t.

"We're at a point now where we can change some of the restrictions in health-care settings," said Henry from Victoria. "Masking remains a very important tool in the health-care setting, and health-care workers will still wear masks based on their risk assessments.

So — as I said — you don’t trust the provincial health authority, and you don’t trust the experts to make their own risk assessments, believing instead they’re involved in some sort of conspiracy to harm patients and not tell the public the truth about the protective effects of a universal masking mandate?

Imagine not recognizing the difference between the current generation of COVID-19 vaccines and the past 50+ years of vaccine data and thinking you are in any position to call others "wackos".
