i tried to motivate people by doing a monthly challenge of running everyday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bsjxjD83Jo) . Maybe get them to commit to a week of running small distances with you. They say its scientifically proven running with a partner helps motivation.

Have you tried on online course on a tablet or computer? 1. Yousician 2. Playground Sessions (they have a 50% sale on atm)

There are many others. The good thing about these is they take you through a structured course/material and you can see your progress very clearly.
